Endless questions about why we are here and how can atheists put up with the fallen and evil state of the Earth, not all of them of course but there does seem to be quite a few bordering on the manic depressive. Life's a blast folks, its not all sugar-coated for sure but it a lot better than the alternative, if Christianity is bringing you down why not try life without it for a while?

Of course not all christians are miserable, read the body of my question.

And this is really to show how when you are asked the same question that we are constantly asked on these boards how p!ssed off it makes you.

I've noticed that too. All those "Why do you keep on living??" emo questions disturb me. I love this earth and my life. What's their excuse? God getting them down?

It's the programming within the system. Christians are taught they are sinful wretches with no escape except through the good graces of another. They see the world and themselves as wrong and evil - by nature. It tends to add a dark tint to the world view and life in general.

Hinduism, on the other hand, says we are inherently good (Buddha-nature for Buddhists). We are already perfect and it is only our ignorance and misconceptions that we believe otherwise and do not act rightly. Seeing ourselves and others in such a light gives a positive spin to the outlook.

We create our worlds by our own beliefs and thoughts.

Some Christians have a better view of the world - but I see what you mean on this board.

Religion, Christian or otherwise draw people that are unhappy. Some drawn in expect God to change that.
Happiness is an inside job.I know happy Christians,Jews,Buddhists & Atheists.I even know a few happy Pagans.Their comonality is they dont depend on outside influances.
Instead of resenting not getting your way,or being envious of what others have.Be grateful for what you have,& rejoice in the good fortune of those around you.If you do, you might even find a God of your own understanding

I agree that many people who claim to be Christians can be real downers but you must know that saying you are a Christian is a far cry from actually being one. Also being a Christian does not mean that you are not human. Christians suffer depression, hopelessness, despair just as anyone does. And I might add...for us Christians life here on earth isn't nearly as wonderful as the alternative will be.

It's not just Christans that are miserable. Alot of people are.
I feel it's just a character thing. Some are just more joyful than others. Everyone has their own perspective of life. Just go with it~ in stride. Be serious when needed and lighthearted when needed. Just never be heatful towards others! As far as a God?
Better to live like their is one, than live like there is not.

I don't know where you're getting that idea from. It's the atheists that live a gray life in a world that was created by accident and they believe simply a cosmic fluke that has no real purpose.

What can be more dismall than that! That's probably why they come here and whine so much. Misery loves company.

I do not believe that this applies to everyone. I am a Christian and I am far from miserable I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful daughter and I hope to have a long life with them before I go to be with Jesus. I do not think that I am the only one who feels this way either.

I'm a Christian and it works for me. It's always disappointing to hear that a group of so-called "Christian people" or "Christ believers" see the world as sugar coated or miserable, that's too manic-depressive for me. If anything Jesus told the hard truth and that's why the people in his day killed him! Hell, I bet some of the so-called "Christians" would kill him again if he returned today.

look Christians are not miserable when they have the Lord. most people call their-selves Christians but don't live by the bible. i don't understand that. But Jesus said that his children would be persecuted and have longsuffering for his name sake. but the joy that you feel when the Lord is living inside of you makes it all worth it. look there is a God, if there wasnt then how did you get here. i know you could care less about what i have to say cuz you dont know me from adam to eve, but trust me their is a God. i recently just converted into the truth and now the bible makes so much sense now. you just just believe!

The Lord has given me everything I want and everything I will ever need. I am happy, and when Im not, the Lord is there to pick me up and see things a different way to see that things arent as bad as they may seem.

Sad, sometimes, but Im mostly happy, because I know things in life arent always great, but your life can quickly change for the good once you turn to God.

They seem miserable because they are human just like anyone else. Also, they forget whom they serve at times and get wrapped up in what's happening in the world. They forget this is only a journey and this is not the final destination.

Some of them don't have a real relationship with Jesus.
