The problem is that they do not have to. Law requires all employers to have the W-2 in your hand by 1/31. Anytime before that is nice, but not required.

Not really. The military is generally pretty efficient about getting w-2's out in a timely fashion.

W2s will be available to the AD components of all the branches NLT 22 January. Reserves already have theirs. no hard copies will be issued, it is all strictly through Mypay now.

No but you can always take your last LES and that will have all the info you need to get your taxes prepared. Then you can wait till you get your w-2's and all you have to do is attach it and put down your employer number
