It depends on how you're working them out, and what you mean by "big." Are they big now because they're covered with fat, or are they big because you've got wide shoulders? (It actually _IS_ possible that you are "big-boned" -- my wife is an example. She's pretty proportionate, but she comes from closer to the Viking end of the Nordic stock than to the waif-ly supermodel end, so she doesn't wear spaghetti-strap dresses much; she looks good, but her shoulders are far too wide to pull off some styles and her legs carry far too much muscle) In any case, if you did a lot of weight training only, some of the fat would burn off and the muscle would build up, so your legs would look bigger. Since you say you're looking to tone them up, I'd recommend a mix of weights and aerobic exercise that focuses on legwork -- running and biking are the big ones, while something like rowing would be the next possible choice. You want the aerobic exercise to burn off the fat and develop endurance, but without the weights, you'll look like those skeletal marathoners who eat nothing but dry oat bran and run 100,000,000,000 miles a week. Developing the muscle tone means a balance of weights and aerobic to give you enough muscle mass to look fit and shapely without looking like you do nothing but squats all day long, and that means a balanced diet as well -- can't build strong muscle tissue on celery sticks and Gatorade.

No, if you aren't knowledgeable enough to know the answer then I doubt you would be working them hard enough to make them larger. You would probably burn body fat and tighten the existing muscle making them appear smaller initially and only after extended and rigorous leg workouts would the muscle mass grow to any significant degree.

When you exercise mucles, their shape becomes more defined. That will definitely change the way your clothes fit. But because of their hormones, girls cannot develop huge muscles. So tone up and feel good about yourself!

you have to build muscle to burn fat, so for awhile they might get bigger because you'll have both muscle and fat.. but over time the muscle will burn the fat away and you'll be left with musclar legs.. don't worry about having muscular legs though cause most guys like some curves!

extensions and presses will probably be making your hamstrings and quads larger if you are doing heavy weight..if you are doing plenty of reps it is going to outline them. I recommend doing squats and lunges and use the stairstepper at the greatest incline to broaden your butt

I'd have to see them now to make that kind of judgement.
