I know what peanut butter is... but what does it mean?

I am not looking for the definition... i am lookin for the meaning. !!!Meaning, not definition!!!

when home cooks made different whipped or beaten purees many times they compared it to whipped butter as to consistency since you may be reading a recipe----hence apple butter---also in the case of peanut butter meant extremely smooth no uncrushed nuts---crunchy was to add back some coarse nuts ....cooks will also say when whipping something to whip to an almost 'butter' consistency.............all butter was made from cream...to change cream to butter it had to be dashed or 'whipped' in a butter churn......also peanuts were crushed into' butter ' for better digestion.........

it's made from peanuts and sticks to the roof of your mouth. it is popularly eaten in jelly sandwiches, and sometimes spread on celery sticks.
