Now the dealership is telling me that they are not going to warranty anything that they did not install. I guess that includes the engine too, huh? Bumper to bumper must mean only the bumpers (if they installed them) huh? So like all my reponses to my original question go: Just pay 30,000. for a car and "suck it up" after 3 stereos replaced in 6 months, had to have the firewall installed (never done at factory) Had to have installation installed(never done at factory). Had to have a/c hooked up, never done at factory.Dealer installed tint destroyed after 3 months. Door handle replaced after 2 months, it would not let the door close. Screws attaching driver side seat to floor board were loose. SO I guess the stripes are to be added in the "suck it up" pile I have for this car, adding up to $30,000.00 The dealership only sold me the car, that is where their responsibility ends. Moral of this story:: Walk don't buy a car.

You should have contacted customer service and filed a complaint with them i have had to do that with General Motors before about a warranty and they sent me the money it cost me to fix the problem.

No firewall?? What's this -- an expensive go-cart?

"Had to have installation installed(never done at factory)." What are you trying to say? Your question does not make any sense!

Or is someone putting you up to this as some sort of wind-up?

No dealer would tell you that they won't warranty anything that they didn't install. What is the name of this dealer?

Did you buy a car that the kid down the street made in his Mom's garage with all his little buddies?
What kind of car is it? Let us know so that we can avoid it.
If you are having all these issues with your dealer, you have a couple of options. Use a different dealer. Or, call the district manager for the car manufacturer. Use a polite tone with him/her, let him know the problems you have had with the car AND the dealer, and ask him for a solution. Sometimes they can help, especially with a dealer that is constantly giving bad service.

Also, check online for your state's "Lemon Law". Some states have passed legislation forcing dealers/manufacturers to "buy back" cars that are truly lemons.

You DO have rights, hire an attorney to take them to court. Just the lawyers letter to them should get you results. DON'T let the dealership walk all over you. YOU DO HAVE RIGHTS.
