i was tryin to re-enlist but i think my recruiter has given up on me. im prior service but have lost my dd214 and need a re code waiver. no biggie, my re is 3 i got out honarbly and no misconduct what so ever. im single, 32, and in good health, i dont understand. is it because he has to do some extra paperwork and im not 18 and can just walk in and swear in and he gets his commission like that? amazing how an army recruiter isnt willing to go the extra mile. and recruiters out there willing to go the extra mile for me and get me back in?

First, there isn't a recruiter out there that gets a commission, other than the civilian Army recruiters and they are very few. Next, your RE-3 could be for a variety of things. If medical, you paperwork may have been sent to bureau of medicine for a determination or even to the meps doctor who can also disapprove you. If it's for an other than medical condition, the Battalion CO may have already disapproved it. When I was running recruiting, there was always a problem with PS guys because they always thought they "knew the drill". Unfortunately, as I found when fighting for some of them, big DOD doesn't really care if you get back in. As stated to me, :Prior Service(PS) guys had their chance to stay and chose to get out. They can live with their decision."

i have prior recruiting experience and that RE code does tell alot...if you get a 1, no problem, 2 no problem, 3 its iffy but alot of paperwork and a 4 there is no chance...

the recruiter very well could be lazy but to get back in with a RE3 is going to be a challenege...the main reason is that he will do all that paperwork to try to get you back in and there is a good chance they will not let you re-enlist...question is, why did you get an RE3?

This is a paperwork problem, nothing more. Because you do not have your DD-214, or separation papers and apparently are not in possession of your discharge certificate either. The recruiter cannot just swear you in and be done with it. That is much like asking the motor vehicles department to issue you a new driver's license on your word of honor that you had one and lost it.

These guys all have a Sgt/mjr's they report to, perhaps you need to rachet up and discuss this matter with him! This recruiter appears to be screwin off, he might need a re-evaluation of his duties. A few units in Iraq have some openings.
