ive had my navel pierced 3 times now and it keeps rejecting so i gave up on it and figured it was bcus of the existing scar.
i got my inverse navel done (the upside down one) and it was great for a good while, now its started rejecting too, the skin holding the bar in is getting smalled and thinner.
im too scred to take it out bcus i dnt want to be left with nothing, some days it seems fine, others it doesnt.
i already have a reddish/puple scar where the bar has moved up, and of course have a scar on the top of my belly button from the 1st peircing.
what do i do? and how can i make the scars look less visible?
thanks

my cousin had that problem with her eyebrow piercing, i think some peoples skin reject anything that isn't suppose to be in the skin, i don't think that you will be able to keep it in so the best thing to do it to take it out before that scars to, the best thing for scars is bio oil, it fades them.

I actually have 3 navel piercings and a nipple one, the nipple one is more desirable painful then the navel for particular. the problem with those piercings is they might have therapeutic complications, like rejection. those are the places the position there is the most inflammation on the body; once you position on outfits, bras, sleep... So once you get pierced, confirm you ask to have bio-rings that's implant graded so your body accepts it more desirable. The nipple hurts more desirable because there is more desirable blood circulate and more desirable nerve endings, yet both between the piercings are nicely worth it.

that red/purple scar is a keloid (spelling.) you can put electrical tape (the silver tape) over it for a few days and it should go away. i know you dont want to take it out, but if your body is rejecting it you could get an infection. try not to mess with it for a while, and use that SeaSalt spray they carry at most piercing places. If it doesnt clear up after about a week than get it looked at by the piercer who pierced it.

If your skin is rejecting that often and that consistently, you may want to stick to non surface piercings. You're just going to end up with a lot of ugly scars and possibly a lot of pain during pregnancy with all of your scar tissue.

my friend had that prob with belly bars too. i think it was cause she cleaned it too often or something.
anyway i dunno, but for the scars, i had an operation on my leg when i was little and used this stuff on my scar, Bio-Oil. its really good for scars, and its not expnsive at all. and if you do find it expensive (im pretty sure is only like 12euro a bottle)
a bottle last for ages. and using it somewhere small like your belly button, 1 bottle will last like a 6 months id say.
its really good. i dunno where your from but youl get it in any pharmacy, like boots or superdrug or wherever.

A friend of mine had the same problem. The only body bar her body didn't reject was made of platinum and cost her a fortune

pleas take it out! you will only end up with another nasty lookign scar and you will regret not takign it out sooner. you alreasdy know its rejecting and you probably have severe scarrign on the top navel piercings. do you want tht one th bottom?.. please take it out otherwise you will end up with anothernasty lookign scar. =( when you do take it out make sure you still do the aftercare to prevent infection (sea salt soaks and after care pierce solution) im sorry navel piercings arent working out for you =( but if i were you i would take it out. =( sorry,
you can prevent by having a scar alltogether if you take otu your piercing asap.but thre is nothign else you can really do.

somethimes it can be as simple as the clothes you are wearing as they are causing an extra friction force on the bar. Also, its the pierces reputable because they may not be piercing into your navel enough.

ive got both the top and bottom parts done, and never had any trouble. so i guess that means if you're body is happy with the piercings, it wouldnt be rejecting them. you should take it out i think, before it gets worse and let it heal naturally. it sounds very frustrating....i know i'd be pi$$ed off if it was me! good luck xxx
