I was recently in a house where the people had painted the entire basement hallway with wipe off paint, so it was basically one giant wipe off board. I want to to a little area in my daughters room, but can't find the paint any place. any ideas?

AH,,, I get it. The Q seemed impossible without rags, water, and the belief that a color error had been made in judgement.

After applying thousands of gallons of paint, your best option is likely a gloss, applied with a short nap roller, allowing as smooth a surface as possible.

I guess in saying that however, you might buy sheets of material similar to dry/wet erase marker boards, hang them appropriately until the "children" outgrow the urge to leave a mark.

Actually, in the long term the wipe off board material, especially in your daughters room, would allow her more "room" in her desire to have freedom of expression, and once she evolves through it, you need not do much more than patch holes and ask her what phase she might be into, at that point.
