I want to drop 8-15 lbs relatively quickly. if I eat only things like raw celery and salad with vinegar/oil, steamed broccoli, and small portions of good proteins like egg whites or small pieces of fish like tuna or salmon, for 2 weeks, do you think I will lose any of the weight? (btw- i dont drink pop or sugar in my hot tea, dont eat carbs really anymore all the time, and dont eat many fried foods) Also, I was going to do about 45 minutes of cardio at least 5 days a week... Thanks for the answers and any suggestions would be great!

If you are going to be doing workouts you need carbs! They are not the bad guys in a diet, they are the backbone of a healthy eating regime. Look at the GI Diet by Rick Gallop. Its easy, its effective and it is sustainable.
You will probably lose weight with teh regime you suggest;

That sounds like a great diet - eating like that lets you actually eat more (and more often to boost your metabolism) so you'll have plenty of energy for your workouts. Keep in mind that not all "weight" is the same - if you exercise, you'll be building muscle and losing fat. Measure your progress with how you feel in your clothes & a good tape measure. You needn't check your weight on the scale every day, once weekly is enough.

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.

You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.

It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out Dr. Charles Livingston's video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.

I don't know about that way, it might work, but I do know my mother lost 7 lbs in one week doing the Atkins diet. All protein no carbs you know. It works quick but if you stop doing it you will gain weight back quick too. Good luck.

I guess without knowing what your are doing right now, it's hard to tell. Technically, if you consumer less calories than you have now and burn more than you do now, you will lose. But, if you are already at your ideal weight without much fat, you may not lose as much.
