Now everywhere i go i see people poppin pills, creams, etc. Whether its asprine to amoxicillin people take this on a regular basis. Doesnt it seem odd that we as a people take in pills everyday? What sort of side affects could that have in the future? Will our bodies be so dependent on drugs that fighting off the common cold would be next to impossible in 30-50 years?

Your right! We are halting our physical evolution. Genetic lineages that would normally resist natural ailments are given no advantage, effectively halting natural selection.

Advertising and living in a technologic world. We as a society tend to believe there's a fix for every problem, and people without expertise also tend to think that if a severe problem can be fixed then a lesser one should be easier to fix; that is, if antibiotics will cure bacterial pneumonia, it must be easier to cure a little cold. And we're bombarded with ads that hawk drugs, and in the US, people don't realize how little control the FDA has over these ads.

We have always been a society of pill poppers. At least for the last hundred a fifty years or so, here in America.
More and more drugs coming out because people like to take them, not that everyone needs them but they like taking them.
Most every household one will find drugs in there cabinets. Smokes and alcohol being a drug. Anti acids, nicotine gum, cough medicine, weight loose pills, weight gain pills, even pills to take before sex! We have pills to go to the bathroom, pills to go to sleep, pills to wake us up. Pills, pills, pills....

I so agree with your thoughts! We even have medication not in pill form, teas being very popular ones.

It's because of the un-natural way our foods are being processed these days. Hormones and anti-biotics being injected into cattle and other animals.....sodium content in everything we eat....and chemtrails!! The government is making SURE we are in need of all kinds of vitamins and pills.

Did you know that flouride is a toxic chemical that can not be disposed of? So, they tell you it's good for you! Argh!! People need to wake up!!

One of the main effects of that is we've more than doubled our life expectancy over the past century.

And that is causing a lot of problems - from how to support all the elderly people who don't work to how to pay for medical care.

So, it depends on what we want. Do you want to die young or live a long life?

I work at a mail order pharmacy and you wouldn't believe how much drugs people order! Hundreds upon hundreds, some are required, but most aren't. Insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies alike make a killing off of everyone.

Because we have turned to a society of lazy people just looking for the quick fix. We want what we want when we want it and we don't want to have to wait. We don't want to spend the time to actually allow our bodies to heal naturally and therefore become stronger. Just get it fixed and get it over with.
