ok, i need to get healthier. any help? please read all cause i have "issues" lol.
first off. i just quit smoking. 3 days ago. i've been smoking about 3 years. at most a half a pack a day. but thats that. i quit.
now for the bad stuff
i eat horribly. like only bread. ever. really. but i've always been like that and i've always been a picky eater. like fried chicken fingers, plain cheese burgers, and pasta with butter. or cheese pizza. thats pretty much the extent of my diet. oh yeah, and diet coke. i'll give you an example, today, i'll have a bagel with creamcheese and diet coke, then maybe for dinner i'll have a pb&j sandwhich. and some more coke. yesterday i had chicken parm (just a small order) and diet coke, then popcorn, carrott juice (sobe) and some english muffins with cheese, saltines, and some chocolates that were sitting in front of me. i just dont like much when it comes to food.
and then there is my exersize habbits. or lack there of.

i wake up at 8, am at work at 9, then work until 4. then usually go to school until 10. then i'm in bed by 11. so there's no time for me to exersize!!!
then there is my sleep habits. i said i go to sleep at 11, thats at my bf's house. i wake up at 4 then go home. i'm usually home at 4:30 and go back to sleep. i only do this because my mom wants me home before she leaves for work to "know i'm safe". and i'll humor her and have been for about 3 years now.

also, how do i get past the NOT LIKING most foods. people say to eat salads, my salad would be lettus and carrotts. no dressing no nothing. dressing makes me gag. as do tomatoes and onions. i just cant eat those things. i dont know why, it just litterally makes me gag. same with fish. i dont eat stake just cause i dont have time to make it. i only eat it well done. no pink no blood or else the gag thing comes into factor again. i like plain chicken breast, or fried. but thats it.
unfortionitly i work at a pizza place on the weekends, so thats usually what i have for dinner friday and saturday and for lunch sunday when i'm there.
so how do i get past the gag factor?

Also check out Sparkpeople.com. It's a great, personalizable site with lots of great suggestions on (NOT DIETING) but actually getting healthy.
From what you've written, yeah, you're a picky eater. So what? So you like a lot of carbs? OK, try changing the carbs that you eat (ie, whole wheat or grain (I love oat myself) bread or pasta instead of white bread or pasta). Carbs are actually your body's preferred energy source, and are not evil--the only thing is, you need to moderate your portions or else increase your activity to use the energy instead of letting it get stored as fat.
PORTION CONTROL. Yes, you should try and get more healthy foods in your mix, but in the meantime, look at the portions you're eating, especially if you eat out a lot. Just halving the portions of what you currently eat can go a long way. SO as soon as you get your meal at a restaurant, divide the meal in half and ask the server to wrap half up to go. Added bonus: free meal for later! One thing that worked for me was taking Lean Cuisines for lunch at work. The portions are controlled, the food is healthy, and those suckas are REALLY tasty!! (my personal fave is Lemongrass Chicken)..Also, at $3.00 to 4.00 a pop, you can easily budget for your lunches, and it works out to the same or less for a fast food meal.
Don't try to make a total overhaul all at once, though. make your changes to your diet gradual and your body will be less likely to revolt, rebel and sabotage your good efforts. Take a Lean Cuisine on Monday, and a PB & J (try with whole wheat bread?) on Tuesday. Then do the rest of the week like you normally would. Just over time, take your lean cuisines a couple more times a week, and start phasing the other stuff.
Exercise. That can be a hard one, especially when you have a busy schedule. The thing that worked the best for me? Park farther away than you normally do and walk in, because yup, it's all exercise. I used to park on the fifth floor of the parking garage and take the stairs down, and then up three flights to my office (same return route at the end of the day). It takes five or ten minutes more, but your body thanks you.
Also, keep a 20oz bottle of water with you at work. Drink it up, and get up to refill it frequently. Every bit of movement helps, and you'll be amazed how easy it really is to get in your 8 glasses of water a day. You'll also save a ton on sodas (those little %^(#s get expensive!) and your body will be happier to get water instead of sugar.
Again, though, don't try to ax out the sodas entirely at first...gradual changes. See if you can get through a whole day without a soda, and save one (Diet Coke is better than regular!) as a reward for when you get home. After a while, phase that one out too, and replace it with juice (still sugary, but at least juice has fruity vitaminy goodness and natural sugars, which burn more efficiently in your body--look for 100% juice on the label and dilute it with water for half the calories per serving).
Sleep. Honey, unless you're under 18, you don't need to do everything your mom says. I know she's worried about you, but her worry is affecting your health. You NEED to get at LEAST 6 hours uninterrupted sleep (8's better). Better sleep is just as important to healthy living as a good diet and exercise. Make a compromise with her. Stay with your boyfriend during the week, and go and stay with her on the weekends (without going to your bf's first). Or tell her that you've been staying at the guy's place for three years now, so chances are he's not a psycho, and that you'll be staying there from now on. If she presses the issue, tell her that you'll call her at least once a day to tell her you love her and you're alright. But yeah. that situation's gotta change.
That oughta get you started. Check out Sparkpeople..it really is full of good info. You've already done a great thing just by making the effort to stop smoking and by asking for help on other ways to get healthy. You're not huge by any means (I'm two inches taller and about forty pounds heavier---but I used to be sixty pounds heavier!), and by trying to modify your habits now, you've got much less work ahead of you than if you continue to let it go. You can do this!!
Remember that it takes about a month to form a new habit, so if you can make one or two healthy changes here and there and sustain them for a month, you're much better off than going gung ho on a crash diet and failing within two weeks.
Remember also that you're doing it for you, and you're doing a great thing, and you'll live longer and happier for it.
Good luck, kiddo.

Okay, where to start. First congrats on quiting smoking that is the first step.
Diet: Now don't think about carrots and celery. A diet is something you should choose that you can live with. It should make you happy knowing that you can still eat the foods you want and still lose weight.
First change how you eat. Eat smaller portions of the foods you like. Example would be to order only the hamburger and not the fries. Try and stay away from the fried foods. Diet drinks wont help you lose any weight. NONE. Look for more healthy drinks such as water. If water is not to your taste, look for Sobe Lean. Great beverage with little or no calories and has lots of flavor. Drink more juice if you like it,, but check and make sure it is 100% juice, no added sugers. That brings up to....
Eat smart. Always check and read the lable of the foods you are eating. Now set up a plan so that you can eat 4-5 small meals a day. This will help increase your metabolism.
Now the most important. Exercise. You wanna lose weight? your gonna have to exercise. At first you may not enjoy it and you might be sore, but after a couple of week your body will adjust and you will start to notice that you have more energy. After a month or two once you start losing the weight you will start to feel a whole lot better physically.
Lastly. Emotional wellness is very important. If you are depressed or are easily upset you will find yourself running to the fridge. Feel good food. Surround yourself with friend who enjoy things you like to do, going to the movies, bowling, pool, or dancing. Just stay away from alcohol,,,, lots of unwanted calories.
I hope that this helps a bit and if you have any other questions about maybe setting up a diet or exercise plan, feel free to contact me and I will do my best at personalizing your plan.
Plus, never suppliment you diet with minerals such as iron without first talking to a doctor. The metal "heavy" minierals can cause physical problems if take in excess. You body does not remove extra heavy minerals from your body and can cause physical problems. Water soluable vitamins are okay, such as vitamine A, B's, C..... because if you have extra unwanted vitamins that are water soluable, then your body will rid them through your urine. (dark yellow/orange urine, with a strong oder)
Good Luck and Eat Well.

Your diet is not unlike many, unfortunately. The only way to break the habit is to eliminate the bad foods from your environment and a couple notes placed in strategic areas to keep you on track. Keep plenty of bottled water instead of pop. Keep skim milk or equal milk substitute if you are allergic. Have ready to eat fresh salads available at all times along with baby carrots and low fat dressings. Keep healthier snacks around such as fresh fruit, nuts, pretzels. When you do have breads use only whole grains and brown rice. There is nothing wrong with pizza, cheese or butter, but it has to be in moderation. What I see lacking in your diet is fruit and vegetables, work on those and I think you will have more energy.

first off, you should start taking a vitimin, preferrably one with iron, since you are a female (since females go through more blood then men, our iron is usually low)
i know its hard to change ur eating habits, so im not gonna say completely change them.. but making small changes in what you do eat can help.. like wheat or veggi noodles instead of regular, or skip the deep dish for your pizza and try thin.. or instead of white bread, try wheat, or rye.. not big changes, but they would help
depending on wher you live, could you walk to work on nice days? or to the store? it would not only give you some exercise but save money on gas :D
you can go for walks, if you have a dog, perfect.. if not, maybe one of your neighbor friends has a dog and you could offer to take him for a walk. its a good excuss to get out.
more things...
wash dishes by hand instead of using a dishwasher.
get wrist weights or ankel weights (not very expensive, and you dont need brand name) and wear them around the house. it wont be much weight, but will make you work just a little bit harder for normal things. i would suggest 2.5 lb ones.
baby sit! it can get you extra money, and playing with kids is a great way to burn calories.
