Nothing causes "appendix". You are born with one.
Tomato seeds do not cause appendicitis either. If it did do you think people would eat tomatoes?

Small seeds like tomato seeds and strawberry seeds are known to aggravate a condition called diverticulitis. Diverticulitis develops from diverticulosis, which involves the formation of pouches (diverticula) on the outside of the colon. Diverticulitis results if one of these diverticula becomes inflamed.
In complicated diverticulitis, bacteria may subsequently infect the outside of the colon if an inflamed diverticulum bursts open. If the infection spreads to the lining of the abdominal cavity, (peritoneum), this can cause a potentially fatal peritonitis, hence the confusion with appendicitis.
The causes of appendicitis are generally unknown, but the leading theory is that obstruction of the appendiceal orifice is the inciting factor. Obstruction may come from fecal matter lodged in the appendix, impaction of mucous, a small tumor (such as a carcinoid), or even a small blood clot.
The symptoms of an inflamed appendix and the symptoms of diverticulitis are similar, and both, if left untreated can lead to peritonitis which is considered a surgical emergency.
People who have a diet high in fiber have a lower chance of developing Diverticulosis and Appendicitis, so if you wish to avoid appendicitis, eat plenty of vegetables and drink plenty of water.

No. If it were true, my appendix would have been gone long ago.
Now, a lot of seeds do have trace ammounts of chemicals in them that can be poisonous to humans. But the trace is so small that we aren't even aware of them.
