I lost someone I really truly loved to murder. I have to live in the same area as this person because they are still in my town. Funny Right??!!

I do not support the death penalty not even 1%. I am not a vengeful person I do not see the point in an eye for an eye mentality. If the person that killed my relative dies will it bring who I lost back? No it will not. I do not think that they should be able to run the streets free but to put them on death row for 20 years and then kill them is outrageous and a waste of money. There are also too many people on death row that are being found innocent so there is no way you can use death as a punishment because there is no going back if you mess up. Death is not a tool for humans to use whether it is lawfully or unlawfully. No DESCENT human being can say that they would like to see another person dead. We have all made a bad choice in our life sometime or another and who is to say that what we have done did not hurt someone or wrong someone so bad that they don't feel like living anymore or can not live a full life. Should I die for that.

So I do not support the death penalty. I could go on and on about this but to be honest you do not have to agree when you feel as strongly as I do about this.

Capital punishment is given in the rarest of rare cases.
These criminals are discernibly very dangerous to the society.

Its simple to judge this aspect yourself. Just pose this question and imagine you are facing a criminal (hardcore) who cares nothing. Will you surrender yourself without any fear or scare. If even for a moment you wish to kill that criminal then and there itself then the capital punishment is justified. We clean our houses and throw the waste everyday. We surely dont want to keep the waste with us.

It is very easy for us to discuss this issue as a third person. Because we dont know the situation and understand the anguish of the victims.
Imagine the victims plight and the torment undergone by them.
And why do we forget that if let loose there shall be another gruesome crime.
And who do you think is responsible for such crimes. We the Society would be blamed.
We as a Society have a responsibility towards the community.
May be the root cause lies elsewhere but until we are self sufficient we have no other choice than to eradicate the menace.

How do you say someone is a criminal ? Is all crimes deserve the same treatment? is evry crime means someone commited is criminal. Then Who are you? Did you not commit even petty crimes atleast stealing some dollors from your pops pant to go for a movie in your childhood. Then should we say you are a criminal?

There is a general opinion that anyone accused or facing a trial or even convicted are called criminals.

Before anyone utter the word please check back the background of the case and then decide.

For instance, if someone's family is devasted by the actions of somebody and still that somebody is inflicting damage and one day he goes to the affected persons house and rapes his wife and small girl child and manages to go scot free with help of police.

What would the affected person do? wait for the times to come s9o that he can take him up legally. Still he fails then out of frustration he goes to the oppressor's house and kill the bad man..

The police will arrest him and charge with Murder.

Though the case would be argued for the reasons to commit the murder, will the court discharge him? He will be still charged Murder and if death penalty is given to the accused. Do you call that justice? Do you call him Criminal.

So never ever utter such words without learning the background and reasons. As for your question to Capitol punishment, it should be abolished and used only in rareest of rare cases depending on the threat to nation the kind of cruelty commited etc.

Still a chance should be given for the person to reform. Only if everything failes he be shot dead.

U r right that we don't have any right to take any life but it is applicable to the other person also that is CRIMINALS. It happens sometimes that a person is forced to take some action which is not legal under the eyes of law because of the corrupt system but it dosnt mean that u just bang that person. For example in a cricket match it is sometimes happen that the umpires gave wrong decision but it dosnt mean that batsman will kill him or assacinate him.
The correct remedy will be to change the the whole system so that this will not happen again just like changing the empire in the next match.

The Bible says the Lord gives and takes away. It also says "vengeance is mine says the Lord". I am fine with that.

Containing someone, preventing them from doing harm should be enough (life imprisonment). People are daunted by the economics of that, which is really the same as being daunted at the price of civility and doing the right thing. I think men just love to punish cruelly and thoroughly. This is a character flaw law shouldn't cater to.

I agree that capital punishment should be a rarity. But, I do not believe that it should be removed from our Statute Book. When a criminal is found to be too hardened showing no sign of contrition and if it is felt that his continued living will pose a threat to the peaceful living of the public at large, there is nothing wrong in sentencing him to death.

If criminals were born criminals, we could eliminate them by predetermining what they were going to be and abort them, by your mode of thinking. Giving a criminal the death sentence is a means of metering justice, not meant to be fair, but to be an end to a life that has caused the pain and suffering of usually innocents. It's a shame our system has gotten to the point where it takes 12-20 years to keep these criminals hanging around burning up taxpayer's money.

If not they will kill me & you. As yu said they are made here and they should be destroyed here itself. Just cut the hands of one Thief. Then see the crime rate, today we can read in the news paper " Thief caught by the Police when he was stealing 100th time". Today when police arrest yu they take away your purse & mobile. After few hours they say you are set free & return your purse, mobile. You see that the 1000 dollar note in your purse is missing. Where will u go & complain now. Because of lenient punishment we have reached this stage where the police himself has become a thief.

I prefer to see the Criminal dead...than to see part of my Taxes to be used on him or her to be fed- Guard- and housed. Plus when a Criminal dies...for sure he will not have a chance to go out and repeat his crimes on innocent Civilians. In USA takes through legal procudures 8-10 years..for a condem Criminal to be executed...the 8-10 years tolal Legal Expensses and Up-keep don't you think that is waste of time and money...that we the USA tax-payers will have to pay?...Do you think this time and money can be spend towards better causes...like take a poor ill child and pay the Medical Bills...so you can Bring this poor child...better and faster to health. Think about it.
