If you listen to the liberal machines AA branch, everybody who's ever consumed even the slightest amount of alcohol, is an alcoholic. And once your an alcoholic, your an alcoholic for life, even if you never drink alcohol again. There's even ''dry'' alcoholics. But don't worry, it's not your fault your an alcoholic, it's usually blamed on someone else who inadvertently or otherwise made you ill (that's right, don't feel too bad, alcoholism is an illness). Could be your father, mother aunt or somebody, heck they were all alcoholics back then (even if they didn't drink). It fits right in with the old liberal standby, that just about every one (except of course the Evil Big Corporations) is the victim of something. and therefore should be given something by someone else (the taxpayer). Gotta go now, I feel Uncle sam pulling at my wallet again!

Yes. Alcoholics can drink somewhat infrequently, maybe only once per month. If, however, the person is getting hammered when they drink, or if it is some other way impacting their life beyond their control then you are likely looking at alcohol addiction.

I agree with Rob. When you're closing up shop on Friday afternoon and your saying how you need a drink. Come on now, we all say it... Stop and ask yourself if you really do need it. If you do, stop and wait until you want it. I used to drink only on weekends to. Then I started saying one or two a day isn't bad, then a few more and a few more. Next thing I know I'm working two jobs to pay the bills because I blew my entire pay cheque at the pub.

sure can, I don't do well on alcohol, i always get very drunk, and very sick, I've even ingested alcohol right after puking, I've gone on 4 day benders, am I an alcoholic, ummmm yea !, O.K, so what do we do about this ? Well, we can do AA, or stop drinking, I stopped for ten years, not a drop, tried it again for two years, went back to the same thing, HMMMM same results ? This concludes our experiment with alcohol and it's been four years since my last drink, no AA, I just stopped before I killed myself, or worse, someone else.

yes there is such a thing as a "weekend alcoholic", someone who doesn't drink much or at all during the week, and then binge drinks on the weekend.
