Me and my boyfriend have white stuff in the back of our throats and are SICK AS HELL with sore throats and flu symptoms. at some point we were both crying. Im going to the doc today, is there anything he can possibly perscribe me that can control this pain any better? Does anything help more than a motrin 800?? maybe Tylenol 3's?? we are simply miserable.

Motrin 800... not the best choice. Ask your doctor about Keflex cough syrup. It is a prescription syrup that contains codeine. It will not only coat your burning throat but it will provide serious pain relief. I hope this is helpful! I also hope that you and your significant other recover quickly ;)

You simply need the right medication and in this case that is an antibiotic (penicillin, amoxicillin). You need to see a doctor as he will give you a prescription for this and probably instruct you to take the antibiotic for 10 days. The pain will be noticeably reduced within 24 hours of taking the medication. You will be okay! I'm not a doctor, I just play one in my home.

Try salt water rinse, 1:10 (salt and water). Although, it won't control pain, but It kills the bacteria in the throat.

I feel for you!! I had strep as an adult and it was horrible! Your doctor will help you out! Once on antibiotics you will start feeling better pretty quick!
