I highly recommend www.myfooddiary.com.
It will help you get a big picture of what you're eating and how it effects you. For example, you may be cutting back on calories, but not getting enough protein, or eating high a percentage of your calories in fat, etc. Studies show that people underestimate their caloric intake by about 400 calories a day. That's huge. Especially if you are petite.
It also incorporates exercise telling you how many calories you need to eat if you burn off x number exercising.
A big thing that most people forget is that you need to about 1200 calories a day to run your body. If you are burning off 400 calories a day in exercise and only eating 1000 calories, you're subsisting on 800 calories a day - in other words, starving your body which shuts down your metabolism.
They also have a great forum to talk to people who are in the same situation as you and fantastic resources. The other thing that a food diary does is keep you accountable. It's there in black and white for you to see...
It's $9 a month, but well worth it.
Good luck on journey to better health. :)

During the day snack on "negative calorie foods" i.e. foods that require more energy to digest than they contain. Like carrots, cucumbers - pickles, or celery, (complete list on internet) Also try weight training. Building muscle helps you burn more calories throughout the day. I also read that 2-3 serving of dairy can help you lose weight. So low-fat yogurt would also be a good snack. I have lowered my calorie intake and I make sure to eat every three hours while I am awake. It speeds up my metabolism. I haven't weighed myself for a while but I have tape-measured myself and in less than month I lost a total of 8 inches. Good Luck.

Dance! Especially, take a course in belly dancing if you can. But dance vigorously; get into it. And if you don't have a partner, dance anyway! When I was in Overeaters Anonymous and losing about a pound or two a week, most of that was from dancing at the local bar, and NOT drinking anything but diet Coke.

Try Pilates. Either at a gym or there are a lot of good dvd's out there.
Also add exersize whenever possible. Use the stairs instead of elevator. Walk instead of email while in office. Every little movement will help.
Good luck!

A nutrionist really helps and it's not as expensive as one might think. The one I see also has personal trainers available at their location. I don't use them, and my nutritionist has great advice on excerise that I do on my own. Good luck!

Check out a low carb diet at lowcarbfriends.org
Also you should incorporate some cardio into your excercise regiment. Eating low carb will help reduce belly fat rather quickly.
