So far your condition is still within normal. Swelling reaches its peak on the 3rd day and subsides after that. If swelling tends to be worse after the 3rd day, that means infection is present and should be taking antibiotics or if you are currently under medication, your antibiotic should be changed.
A little bit of bleeding is still normal. If profuse bleeding starts, soak a teabag in warm water and bite on the teabag applying mild pressure on the surgical site. The pressure and the tannins in the tea will help stop the bleeding. If bleeding does not stop or gets worse, call your dentist.
For now, hot compress will help the swelling subside faster. The hot compress will help dilate blood vessels and increase the flow of blood to the area. This increase in blood flow means an increase of cellular components in the area that help in healing of the surgical site.

Don't be worried. This is coming from a person that had 4 teeth pulled. Put ice on your mouth and try to eat liquidy foods like applesauce. If you still have pain, after about a week or two. Go to your dentist. You can take painkillers to relieve some of the pain and swelling.

On the socket that is still bleeding put a wet black tea bag on it. It will stop the bleeding. I would say you could be swollen for up to 2 weeks. Keep taking your pain meds and if your dr told you to put hot/cold compresses on your cheeks do that it will really help the swelling move through.

my swelling and bleeding was down after about 3 days, however, the pain lasted a lot longer. I think it's probably normal for the socket to still be bleeding.

when I had my four wisdom teeth out they bled quite a bit. Atleast 3 days. Each day it got a little better. As for the swelling, try using ice packs on your face, and when you sleep, sleep propped up on several pillows. Feel better :)

When I had mine out, the Dr gave me Tylenol3 and told me to bite on a Tea bag (plain old black tea: Lipton, Tetly). The tea has Tannins? in it that help constrict blood vessels and lessen/stop bleeding.

I would think it is yet.
If you are still worried, just call a nurse at the clinic you went to and ask them.
