Such a being is the only type worthy of worship. If I was fit to be in the presence of God, I'd have no reason to worship Him.
Didn't Groucho Marx comment about not joining any club that would have him as a member? Basically the same thing.

For one something has to exist to be in your presence and for two the god has a living likeliness to a quality in living nature domination and submission. A quality only from things that live and can die. Why because domination and superiority are needed for rank and value. We only interpret value based on life. If we are without the threat of death nothing has value. Without value there is no need to dominate.
Why would someone worship this many reasons. Conformity, inbreed knowledge, lack of knowledge, insecurity, fear keeps a tight chain and even in the religion you are suppose to use faith and blindly follow and not question anything what kind of insecure belief doesn't allow it's people to come to their own conclusions especially if they will suffer anyway if they get it wrong. etc...

It is not that 'Christians' (and others) are not 'fit' to be in his presence; it is whether 'Christians' and others, are willing to believe and trust his 'word' (only).
Analogy; would an earthly father want/expect obedience from their child(ren)? Granted, the 'child' may not be perfect at obeying the father, but the child should strive for 'perfection'. Is God not the same way past, present, and future?

Most Christians will probably say something like.
Because God created us only to serve and worship Him (which makes God seem like someone who needs people praising him all the time)
Because they are afraid to go to hell
Or because they believe mankind is totally depraved and can do nothing but sin unless God's grace saves them.
I say
It is important to worship God because we CAN be fit to be in his presence. Because he loves us, because he is our Father and made us in his own image. And because of how merciful he is to us. It is important to worship God because he sent his Son to earth to die for us so we COULD be in his presence. We are the children of God.

Because He is the creator of all things and worthy of worship. Because He provided a way for us to be in His presence.
We humans can be very arrogant. God is unimpressed with even the greatest of human accompaniments and who can hope to win against God in a battle of wills, domination, conquest, or wealth? Why even mention personal ability? What do you give someone who has everything? The answer is yourself. Worship is the passionate declaration, demonstration and celebration of His "worth-ness".

Because He created us.
And because we're not worthy to be in His presence ... but we know that with faith in Him to the end, we will be in His presence anyway.
Because His Son paved the way for us.

When I die, I will be absent from the body and face to face with the Lord.
I am filled with the Holy Spirit.
He answers my prayers.
The Bible is the mind of Christ.
He loves us all.
He loves all of us.
Peace out.
