Why do you want to cover up your tattoo? I thought the whole point of a tattoo was so you could show it off.

If you cover it up with make-up it would make it more obvious and it may rub off onto your dress or worse still onto the brides dress.

Don't cover it up wear it with pride ;-)

Obviously your best friend knows that you have a tattoo on your arm (mine certainly knew about my first tattoo about two minutes after the artist finished with me). Give her a call and ask her if she would want you to cover it up.

If she does, you certainly have a few options. Dermblend cosmetics do a good job at covering up tattoos and large scars, and once set with powder has decent staying power.

Other brands available are Smart Cover and Covermark (which has a tattoo cover kit. Both can be ordered over the internet.

You can also get a matching shawl to go with your dress that can give you a bit of cover (a lot of bridesmaids get them to keep from feeling overexposed in strapless dresses).

And lastely, if your friend has no problem with your tattoo, dare to show it off. I have one that was readily visible with the dress I wore during my brother's wedding and if anything, everyone seemed to enjoy joking how it occasionally peeked over the top of my bodice.

Find a Skin Camouflage person in your area, I am a member of the British Association of Skin Camouflage and if you contact them they will point you in the direction of someone in your area.

They will test different camouflage products to see which is the best for your skin and show you how to apply the products. The products are waterproof and some last for up to 3 days! They can be used on bruises, vitiligo, scars, birthmarks, tattoos and many other conditions. When I trained we practised on several people with tattoos and different colours are required to counteract the colour of the tattoo, so buying a general camouflage product won't cover well.

Some good beauty salons can also do this for you and will charge but check they hold a qualification and are not just applying cover up.

Hope this helps. x

Well you can use make up (its easiest to buy it off the internet) however if you only lightly cover it, its going to look a bit silly, you will have to completely cover it so you can see no outline etc.
Try a shawl or a jacket if they make them for the dress.
The question is - is the tattoo "tasteful"? does the bride / groom want you to cover it up? or are you worried its going to look bad in photos? If none of the above then leave it on show and show who you are.
I got married last july and had the tattoo on my arm and the one on my shoulder blade on show.
No one takes any notice of tattoos at weddings anyway, esp if you are not the bride / groom (no offense). i think they are going to be too busy looking at the dresses etc and exclaming "oh look how beautiful they all look!" plus im sure you can stand so the tatt doesnt show in pics if you wanted to.
good luck.

Use liquid foundation and dot on with a foam makeup application wedge (you can buy both at any drug store or a wal-mart). Wet the wedge with a little water first and it will go on easier.

HINT: Match the foundation color to your color on your arm. Don't smear it on because it will get too thin and you will be able to see through it.

Bring the foundation with you to the wedding in your bag as you may need to touch up throughout the reception.

i wouldn't even bother. if it were "barely visible" it would probably be more noticed because people would be more likely to think you had something on your skin, a bruise or a smudge. just wear your tattoo with pride. i'm sure it won't be the first time people have seen it. i didn't try to hide my tattoo for my wedding. it was just there. it wasn't a big deal even tho it was the first time many people had seen it ever.

they are plenty of cosmetics that can cover up tattoos, do a goodle search for "camoflauge make-up" and it should give you loads of options. you want one which resembles a very thick foundation with full coverage. all should offer this! xxx

could you get a wrap to match the dress? it would cover the tattoo but not get rid of it completely.
