I sympathise fully - I lost a stone and a half and have put most of it back on!
Set yourself little goals - like 'I want to lose half a stone by April' type thing - they are easier to stick to.
Get an exercise buddy and start doing lots more exercise.
Motivation is the hardest thing to get and keep but I promise you - you can do it and it will be worth it. Just imagine how great you'll look in Malta.
You could have lost that two stone by June - go for it!

I'm in the same predicament but am determined to loose again and more than the first time I hope. Start off small with something that you enjoy, I always find that 20 minutes on the playstation dance mat to my favourite tracks kick starts me into control over my food intake and the high i get from exercising motivates me to be far more active in my daiky routine. Walking with an ipod or other music player is also easy and free.
I watched Gillian McKeiths last programme and discovered something very valuable when starting a fitness regime, she says you should exercise 20 minutes before a meal now this is'nt always ppossible but if you got yourself organised you could get up early do a quick slot then at lunch time go for a quick walk round the block and the same in the evening before your meal. This boosts the metabolism so you burn what you eat way more efficiently. Good luck you will get there you just have to get organised again, remember how good it felt when you lost the weight the last time, you will get therer!! We both will!!

If you are still eating correctly but gaining weight and feeling tired and can't be bothered with exercise, also feeling depressed, have your thyroid checked. I was in the same way and when I had a blood test it was found I had a slightly underactive thyroid. I am on the lowest dose of Thyroxine now and have lost just over two & half stone. I joined Weight Watchers and a weekly aqarobic class 12 months ago and feel great! I am 66yrs so it's never too late. The compliments are pretty good to keep you motivated too. Good Luck.

Providing you are already eating a healthy diet (you know, plenty of vegetables and fruit, lots of good source protein - pulses, fish, organic meat, and complex carbs), walking everywhere instead of driving, drinking at least 2l of water a day and breakfasting like a king, but dining like a pauper - have you thought of changing your last exercising routine into a less boring, more varied one?
Pounding the treadmill is no fun. Try swimming one day (or week), then tennis the next (as people have already suggested, this would provide you with an exercise buddy, but be careful of over-relation!)...
Learn new techniques: you could learn Pilates, for example, then do it at home 3-4 times per week - it does absolute wonders for the lower abdomen muscles, ones that sit-ups barely even touch. Or yoga - doesn't really matter what kind, it's all about doing one good thing which opens the door to another.
Btw, I saw a programme on Nordic walking recently, which is just like your normal walking, except you get to use these poles (around £7 over the Internet). Apparently, it burns 20% more calories than normal walking/hiking, is great for people with back and joint pain, and it keeps you motivated. This is what aficionados say:
"Walk by yourself, or walk with friends, even if you have different fitness levels; Nordic Walking is one of the most sociable and effective exercise techniques around. From the social walker enjoying the outdoors with others, to the elite athlete needing sports specific cross training, Nordic Walking (or Nordic Running) is suitable for everyone.
Originating from summer training for cross-country skiers,Nordic Walking works your upper and lower body at the same time, strengthening your back, legs and arms, and reducing neck and shoulder tension - all this while improving the health of your heart and lungs. And you can gain all these health benefits, and more, while Nordic Walking with your friends; exercise intensity is determined by upper body effort so people of differing fitness levels can walk and talk together, while working to their own level with Nordic Walking."
And, don't worry about your friends: I'm sure they have their own crosses to bear, just like the rest of us...:)
You can do it.
