Well, you should NEVER give them away while they're newborns!
8-10 weeks is the best time for them to find new homes. The longer you keep the pups together with their mother, the better pets they will end up being.
Between the 7th and 10th weeks, the mother teaches her pups many things (including bite aversion!) so if you keep them until this age, they will be less likely to bite people as they grow!
While people love to have little bitty puppies, if you explain to them how you keeping them until 10 weeks will make them better pets, they shouldn't have a problem.

Depends on the breed. But generally about 8-9 weeks and when they are weened or able to eat food from the bowl . Some doigs will also supplement from the mother. This is ok to separate them as along as they are independent in taking food. But ideally before sale or giving away they need to be vet checked and have their first injections for parvo hepatitis and kennel cough. Expensive for give a way pups. But responsible dog owners should insist on it being done before any new owner can remove the pup. This cost should be born by the new buyer and its OK to give them away for the cost of the veterinary check and vaccination.

First of all, let me say congratulations. I hope everything went smoothly for mom and puppies. It's best to wait until the puppies are at least 12 weeks old, and eating on their own, before you sell or give them away. The puppies are still learning things from their mom. Waiting is better, because the puppies, tend to have a better personality, are healthier, and happier puppies.

Puppies can be given away at 6 weeks if they are eating on their own, however,it is better for the pups development if they stay together til the age of 8 - 10 weeks.

If you don’t know the answer to this then you clearly shouldn’t have bred your pet. Are you not aware that almost 10,000 animals will be put to sleep every day in this country due to pet overpopulation? Get your pet fixed.
The answer is 8-10 weeks. Puppies MUST wean from their mothers in order to get proper nutrients and socialization with their littermates. Please do the proper research on caring for newborn puppies so these little ones can be happy and healthy.

8-12 Weeks is BEST! If you give them away before 8 weeks, they will have a difficult time socializing with other dogs. They may also be more neurotic and insecure because they were taken away from their mothers/family too young. After 16 weeks they have a harder time bonding/socializing with people. They are more dog-oriented.

my family used to breed chows..we would wait till the pups were at least 10 weeks old to even advertise them..and 10 to 12 weeks before finding them homes..this way the pups were with us longer with mom longer..better for their health..and we were able to see a little of there personalities and temperment and place them in the right home..but if you cant keep them that long you can find them homes at 6 weeks only if they are weened from mom and eatting on there own and had their first shots and deworming..

8 wks. They should be able to eat and drink on their own, had all their first shots, and starting to potty train. If you have a runt or any that seem a bit behind, give them an extra week or so.

They should be with mom for 10-12 weeks. Even after they are weaned they learn "dog things" from her and each other.
