Yes, 1/2 to 3/4 cup brown rice and 1 or more cups veggies is a nutritious lunch. Eat all the veggies you want, add a serving of fruit and try to get in some exercise on your lunch hour - walk around the block or up and down the stairs.
Stay away from fruit juice - lots of calories there. But the rice doesn't have to be "plain." Get some Vege-Sal or Spike from the health food store, or Bragg's Liquid Aminos, or picante sauce.

Doesn't sound like there's adequate high quality protein, that's the problem. When you're doing calorie restriction, restricting protein shouldn't be part of this, because it's been shown that lack of protein is a signal to the body that food is scarce. The result is to lose muscle along with fat, slowing down your progress and making your diet less healthy.
I'd buy a sugar-free whey protein mix at Wal-Mart or wherever and use that at every meal if you are just eating things like vegetables and rice. For some of these whey protein mixes, you just mix a scoop of the powder with a half cup of water.
As an interesting note, with regard to SlimFast, they recenly came out with a "high protein" version of their shakes based on the recent studies showing that you'll lose more fat and less muscle if you eat adequate protein while doing calorie restriction.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

what is the portions size? total calories? how does it compliment the rest of your day? i'd consider adding some lean protein and or some healthy fats... takes a bit longer to digest and helps the body think its full. have to consider your whole diet for the day though...
try adding some nonfat yogurt.. protein without the fat and the dairy and shoudl not affect yoru sinuses. use olive oil on your salad or avocado or walnut.. add some fish for lean protein and healthy oil... canned tuna or salmon keeps well in a drawer. if the smell bothers people you could prep it with lemon juice at home.. just make sure you keep it cold.
also what is for breakfast or snacks.?.. a mid morning snack and mid afternoon snack could help.

This sounds like a great lunch. Brown rice is very good for you and unlike white contains the full grain. Maybe add a bit of protien like tuna or chicken....?

yeah brown rice is much better for you than white rice eating at lunch is also a better option dont eat after 8pm.....
It is a good source of fibre which is excellent to keep to bowls moving and healthy because if the bowls are not working properly it can contribute to that bloating feeling and look..

Believe it or not, SlimFast has a lot of sugar and calories (NOT good).. Brown rice is not bad for you as long as you don't eat too much of it. It does have 45.8 carbs per 1 cup cooked, but it has 3.5g of fiber, 1.6 grams of fat, and only 218 calories (which is not much considering you should NEVER eat less than 1200 calories a day).

Brown rice is good but is still rather quickly and easily digested. You still may find yourself hungry in a comparitively short period of time. Adding lean animal protein or fish, which takes longer to digest, will keep you full for a longer period of time.

Brown rice is very good for you, but why not consider adding some steamed broccoli. Good anti-oxitants! And, drink lots of water. That will help with your hunger levels.
