...the point being our makeup is consistent with originating from the ocean, and not from dirt or clay. Whirlingmercenary: Your right, at best it does point to evolution, but when there are literally thousands of small proofs like this it makes for an overwhelmingly compelling argument for evolution.

ramall: rainwater is not even close to the same makeup as our ocean's water. There are several elements which are found in the xact proportion both in the ocean and in living cells. These ratios are not found in soil, fresh, or rain water

You missed the main point - if we were created from dirt or clay as it says in biblical texts (including Koran) we'd be Silicon based lifeforms, not Carbon based.

That on its own is enough to disprove biblical creation but there's tons of other evidence. Will they look at it? Hell no, they'll tell you Satan put it there.

first of all... not true.. and the amounts are charted for your perusal in this article
http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v22/i4/presidents.asp
This was popularized and used by JF Kennedy and Al Gore.. and both got it wrong Im sad to say passing on wrong info

and why would everything else change except for that??? pray tell In the end it is at best an argument for consistency of macro evolution... but one could also say the ocean was intelligently designed for life...

but the claim on the face of it is just scientifically wrong... the ocean might have similarities... but in no way the same or even that close If you look at the chart I referenced really not one item is even close of the dozen or so chemicals... Additionally the concentrations in the ocean are not constant....The ocean probably went through catastrophic changes of its own when it went though the flood of Noah and quite differnt than the original ocean as well

I think by dirt God was probably saying of the same substance the earth is made of. Moses would have no idea what the heck atoms and molecules were. As a lot of elements are common in dirt and in the oceans and rivers etc. God created a framework from which to work within. We, just like everything else, were created within that framework.

Genesis 1:26-28
26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Genesis 2:7 is where we find the dust part:

Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

From dust you were born to dust you become when you die. From the perspective of the ancients, we are dust because we become that when we die. So if that's your perspective then that's how you write. Is carbon not found in the ocean and in dirt?

Nobody ever tell you where rain comes from? The largest body of water on Earth is the ocean so why would we not have the same elements when all the water on Earth comes from the same source? And what is it that waters the dirt?

you are able to desire to have mentioned,"If guy is created from the airborne dirt and dust of the Earth, then why is there nonetheless airborne dirt and dust?" I nonetheless think of its a logical question because of the fact in accordance to evolution, the prehistoric creatures have been replaced by potential of extra progressed ones. Then why did no longer that ensue with the monkeys? Are monkeys nonetheless the stronger race?Do they win the race? Forgive my stupidity. i'm no longer developed adequate to comprehend. you're best. So, maybe the respond is that we did no longer come from Monkeys! Wait! So the place did the airborne dirt and dust come from?!! Oh No!!! maybe rather of toddlers, we could desire to consistently have had monkeys!

Have you seen dead people buried? and at length of time the dead body just become soil again? Because we all came from dirt and returns to dirt.
What makes us special human being is when God breath life to our noses (giving us His Holy Spirit) and made us into His image and likeness (a perfect human being, a perfect one like Him, capable of self-reproducing thru genetics). To make us alive in determined period of time, He created a blood line & products and intra-cellular fluid to sustain life.
Since He(God) is perfect, all elements in this world (eg. air, & blood or any intracellular constituents) are in perfect condition to affect good body growth for any human, animals born in this universe.

God created everything and everyone. I'm not going to try to figure out why He did what He did when He did it.

We evolved?

EDIT: Well, at least we both agree that God made us. The details are still up for debate though, eh? ;-)
