I had holes in my mouth for about 2-3 weeks. Please just make sure that you get the food out and use listerine to get rid of the germs! I didnt and I ended up having a golf ball size about of old food in the hole. Rinse after every meal!!

Where the tooth was removed is now basically an open wound, and just like any other wound, it takes some time to heal.

You will want to be sure that the area is kept clean and that food doesn't become permanently trapped down there. After you finish eating, I would recommend that you "swish" your mouth out with water, or something like Listerine, to remove any of the food particles that could get lodged down in the socket where the tooth was removed.

Hope this helps!

Don't worry. I had my four wisdom teeth out in August and it took quite awhile for the holes to close up. Just keep cleaning and rinsing your mouth to keep it clean. Give it some time - it will heal soon enough.

A wisdom tooth is a big tooth. Naturally there is going to be a big hole there, but it will close. Don't worry. Give it time ..it is a gradual process.

it is not quite as big a hole as it feels like to your tongue. It is however a big enough hole that it will trap food for a while. It is also big enough that it could take a month or two to completely heal over

It could take one or two months for it to close depending on your nutritional intake and overall metabolism.
