they should just tell them to press 2 for spanish.

maybe its because english is the international language so they make it to the number 1

Be thankful you don't have to wait for all selections to come up in different languages and have to press 999!

But, you missed the main point. After you press one you get connected to someone who can't speak good Enlgish, like I did the other day and I couldn't get them to spell my name right, even after I went through the Edward Allen Richard Lincoln routine.

WOW. most places do seeing as how if they only had one language available they wouldnt make you press 1 for it. also spanish is the most spoken language in the world.

For the Us since english is the top thing people speak they go with that first then they go with spanish second because that's second i guess

you only need to press one for English if you want to hear the announcement in English. Otherwise you should choose another language

If they are speaking english then it is assumed that you understand therefore you press. The people speaking in another language might not understand.....
