discusting, but not unheard of. some female dogs, young and old, eat poop to practice for motherhood. mother dogs eat the puppies poop to hide the scent, in the wild other predators will kill the pups if they find them, the mothers eat the poo so the smell of puppies doesnt carry.
as for the aggressive behaviour. if the dog tries to bite you scruff it and flip it over on its belly and hold its muzzle shut untill she cries. if she doesnt cry she isnt sorry. it wont hurt her it is just what a pack leader would do, and covering its muzzle is just to make the point that you dont tollerate biting

It is a normal thing for dogs to eat poop of any kind. If you don't feel you can handle that with out being abusive to your dog you need to give your dog to someone else. The best way to take care of the problem is to take the poop out right away. Dogs eat poop and role in it when they get the chance. Hitting your dog is going to make it mean. You have a small child in the home and you do not need to spank it with anything other than a roled newspaper, the sound alone will scare it. But eating poop is no reason to spank because it is a natural thing for a dog to do that, you just have to prevent it from happening.

Beating the crap out of her isn't going to help. I am also of the opinion that once she has eaten the crap that is not the way to get it returned.
The dog is lacking in some dietry factor and is attracted to the faeces in order to replace the missing elements. Take good stock of what you are feeding it and ensure the diet is adequately nourishing. Failing that a blood test by the vet will indicate what the problem is. Your actions of locking in the kennel may be helpful to you, but the dog lacks understanding of what you actions to it are all about. It was using instinct to correct an imbalance. Think about what dogs do with rotting meat and other unsavoury items that we find unpleasant. They eat it of course and faeces is merely altered foodstuffs with bile additive ( that;s what gives it colour) Not unpleasant for a dog to snack on

Eating the poop isn't the disturbing part. You have a food aggressive dog with a child young enough to use a potty chair? I would do more than slap it. I wouldn't own an aggressive dog with a small child.

I would bite you too!! Catch the dog doing that and you stand there yelling at it, well, dog thinks u want it and so eats it faster (fact here).. You go after it with anger and yelling trying to catch her for doing what she thinks is ok.. You scare her, and she bites, she is fighting back at your cruelness..

My suggestion, give the dog to someone who likes her and will care for her.. You should not have a dog.. PERIOD.. Hate to see what you do when your toddler decides to play with her poop.. they do that ya know...

normally when a dog eats their fecies or a human fecies there is something that they are not getting in there diet or they are getting sick so what you need to do is ask a vet but if the dog has a mean look on it face. It might be time to get rid of it. Think of your daughter. Like what would you do it that dog bit your daughter. Might wanna get rid of the dog before it does. Don't beat the dog cause that only make it meaner. Plus that is dog abouse

My min. rat terrier did that too! He would get diapers out of the trash (with the poo) and would shread them to pieces! GROSS! I just had to make sure that he couldn't get to the diapers, there wasn't much I could do about it. He also liked eating cat poo out of the litter box and the vet gave us this stuff to put in the cat food to make the poo taste gross to our dog. It worked. But don't think there is anything you can do about your doggy, except make sure that everything is cleaned up so he cant get to it! Good luck, and be more gentle to your dog!

For some reason dogs love to eat poo. I would just keep the bathroom door closed. Or keep your dog in the kennel during the potty sessions.

First rule out a scientific motives, as stated in different posts. yet then you fairly might desire to artwork on a "go away it "command. right this is a thank you to start up. the canines might desire to be on leash and in a quiet ecosystem. positioned a cope with on the floor. carry your foot over the cope with. Say "go away it." If the canines is going for the cope with positioned you foot down on the cope with, and shrink back with the leash. If the canines ignores the cope with provide compliment and a cope with. each and every time you prepare develop the quantity of time between asserting go away it and giving a cope with. as quickly because it fairly is mastered attempt it without the leash. Now it sounds as though like your canines is working around and he might desire to be on leash or contained once you're actually not watching, to dodge the fecie eating and to proceed education. i might additionally propose using a shaker can (a soda can with pennies in it) or a squirt bottle to distract the canines if he is going for a "snack". The canines might desire to be attentive to which you don't love it, this might take time and endurance. (my canines does this somewhat and we are engaged on it) sturdy success.

If you beat your puppy in that manner you are raising it to be agressive and mean. If you have a small child this is not good. Dogs like poop. It's just in their nature. I suggest a firm corrective action when this happens, but never beat him/her.
