Yup, everybody is right on the money, it means SH*T. And to add a bit ore info rather than repeating the info, "Un emmerdeur" is guy that is bothering you for a reason or another. "Une emmerdeuse" for a female. I am not quite sure why it stems out of the word "merde", but I guess, it is because their action causes a lot of problems and usually in slang, problems are called " des merdes". Hope it helped.

It means 'sh1t'. And usually, its used as an exclamation - of surprise or anger. There are other words to describe human excrement or soiled linen, for instance, but 'merde' - is a common short exclaimation, serving the same function as 'Oh sh1t' or 'sh-t!' does in English.
