My new(ish) girlfriend has breath that could bend your bones with its repllent potency. It is a mixture of kippers, burning rubber and slurry. It's odd, she is a smartly turned out, intelligent and attractive woman, but her breath smells like she's been eating seagulls.
I see her brush her teeth, but still the morbid stench remains. Is there a way to deal with this, or should I abandon her?

Dicky, I would abandon her. I would never have bothered with her at all, unless drunk, and, well, she wasn't aiming at my mouth!

If you point out a bad thing about the one you like that leaves a scar. So find your answer in logic viz: Bad stomach and bad gums give this odour in the breath. So resort to a consultation with a homeopath who will most likely prescribe to you Nux Vomica 200 in globules (not to eat or drink or smoke half an hour before or after taking these sweet pills) and Hekla lava 200 for better gums. You can tell her that these are good for her complexion etc etc whatever story you want to tell her.
Pl do consult a doctor I am only answering to gain 2 points. Best of luck.

I had a horrible boyfirend once that smelled and his breath smelled and he just was rank! When you notice it say"Whoo did you just eat garlic?" and act like you just noticed it. That way she wont be too embarrased, but will still try to fix it. Once you get closer you can just come out and say "you have bad breath"- I do it to my fiancee all the time and we just laugh and he grabs a mint or gum.
she may not be brushing all of her teeth or using toothpaste. she may even have a medical condition.
Good Luck- there is nothing worse than bad breath on the one that you kiss goodnight!

Oh... trust me man, you gotta get out of there.

I had a situation like that a few years ago with a girl, whenever we were in bed, the 'breath' came out and obviously destroyed any hopes of passion from me. It was embarrassing for both of us but she didn't know what the problem was.

I thought it may have been a one-off so I continued to try and have fun on other occasions, but alas it was there EVERY DAMN TIME.

I broke up with her and had the decency not to tell anyone about it, but a few weeks later I found it she had been telling everyone I couldn't get it up!!!

B****!!!!

Lol, oh dear that's a tricky one! Maybe you should start buying mints and make sure you offer her some! Or go to a chemist and describe the smell, as if it was your problem? Maybe they could recommend something? If all else fails your only option is to gently tell her or just finish with her, good luck!!!

Don't tell her but ask her what she's been eating, bad breath comes from within her diet is all wrong, take her out for some nice nutritional meals and hope it gets better soon. Or get an oxygen mask.

If she has dental problems no ammount of brushing will help. She needs to go to her dentist. Find a way to start a conversation about dentists. If she says that she has not been in a long time tell her it is a good idea to take good care of her teeth.

i suppose you dont want to confront her about this.

Why not change your toothpaste when you go shopping to a astronger one. always have gum or strong mints in your pocket and when she sees you chewing on one offer her one.

If your strong enough to confront her tell her its bothering you and advise her to see a dentist.
otherwise if its bothering you that much dump her but i advise you to tell her the prob before dumping her, you never know she might do something about it and it would hurt her to find out from mates or something that youve dumped her because of her bad breath and not confronting her first.

Yes, tell her, with tender, loving care. There must be something wrong with her. Sometimes, bad breath comes from the stomach, and she must consult a doctor about it, before it's too late.

Tricky situation, tell her but do it kindly and make sure you make her aware that your telling her because you care about her. It may be a more serious problem, bad breath is related to a lot of more serious mouth problems.
