I am a mom of 2 great kids. I've been with this guy on and off for 10 years and he is the father of my kids. He's a truck driver and is home on the weekends and sometimes a day or two during the week. Here recently, he's been very distant towards me and my kids. He acts like he has better things to do and never calls and never helps me out with the kids. He's turned into a mama's boy. He'll go and help his mom, but not me. I've been talking to another guy that I used to date 6 1/2 years ago and he wants to hook back up again. There's a 16 year age difference between me and this guy. Everytime we talk or see each other, my feelings keep coming back. I'm sick of my boyfriend treating me and my kids like crap. The other guy treats me and my kids like a god. I love my boyfriend, but I don't know if I should hook back up with the other guy. Please help me with my problem!! Thanks so much!!

First of all why is he only your boyfriend? You have an on again off again relationship for ten years and 2 kids. So what is the problem? If he has not proposed marriage as of yet then keep it movin' honey. How long are you going to wait,or better yet what are you waiting for? You don't have to hold onto him just because that is what you're most comfortable with if you are not happy. He can still maintain a relationship with his kids but you do not have to be his "partner" anymore. As for this other person, are yousure you have feelings for him or is it just the fact that someone is paying attention to you when this other guy is not? Don't mistake your feelings because they may cause you to make a decision you will regret later on. Take care of your first situation before jumping in with someone else. Give yourself and your kids time to be happy. Then if this other guy is meant to be slowly work him into your lives. Don't bring him in so quickly and then when it doesn't work out there goes another male figure in their lives that is no longer there. Take your time, worry about your happiness and ask yourself if this is what you really want. If you want to keep the first guy (which I would not suggest) then get rid of the other one and make some serious changes. And talk to your kids, how do they feel? I hope this helped you out. Good luck.

The first thing you should do is end the current relationship you are in if you are truly that unhappy. This is the father of your children and you have been with him for a long time. It sounds like you were involved with both of these men at the same time before based on the numbers you gave. You are doing your children no favors by having this other man in their lives while you are still with their dad. This may also become a problem if the current boyfriend finds out and tells a judge what you are up to. Figure out what it is that you really want out of life and make a decision to be with one man only!

Well I have several oppsoins. First of lets try and sit down and talk to the guy you are with now he your childrens father and they love him regaurdless of what goes on. If he chooses to continue to ignore you and your children then just move on. With this other guy just that it slow cause you you moving another man in does sit a good example for your children. There is nothing wrong with him treating you and your kids good but just take it slow and let you spoil you guys rotten. The age doesn't even matter my parents are eleven years apart have been married for 35 years and are still happy so the age doesn't matter at all. Just take care of you and your kids first then everything else will fall in place.

End it with the loser first. After taking a break (it drives me nuts when people jump from one man to another, like they can't function without one!) date this other man - if YOU want to. I know that women flee into the arms of another to feel better, but it usually ends up making things worse. Age difference means nothing when you're happy, and treated with respect. WHY would you love someone who treats you like dirt? I don't get it.

well if you feel that the other guy is going to treat you right and along with your kids that is what matters the most is that your kids are happy with the guy that you love and if he is paying attention to you now then i think he might stay with your kids

Yeah dump your trucker boyfriend and get with the other guy. I heard that truckers have their stops where you can buy hookers for cheap. Maybe he's getting it from there. Who knows but it sounds like this poindexter you are talking about will treat you better. Good luck

Sweetie I would follow my heart. You and your kids deserve to be happy and treated well. Don't stick around and let your bf treat you like crap when there is someone wiling to love you and your kids. Go for it. Allow yourself to be happy.

I feel time is too short, hook back up with the one that is treating you and your kids so good, let the flame re-kindle its self.

Follow your heart; you're, obviously, unhappy in your current relationship, so move on. You have the right to be happy, and so do your children. Best of luck!
