like we like and dislike things - so we assume God likes and dislikes things? We make up this "good" and "evil" game so we assume God makes up a "good" or "evil" game.

Do we not give more latitude and strangeness and mystery to our concepts of outer space aliens then we do to the concept of God we have? Like God is a man or a woman or God is white or black? Or God had a son and makes kids like we make kids?

Is this not all quite preposterous?

and this is why i like the Hindu gods and goddesses. tho human like they're at least weird. they arrive from other planets, they're multi armed, have exciting skin colors and soar around in flying chariots battling equally strange demons.

PS.and yep. nothing mysterious about me. i'm an ex Christian Fundy and i flog Christian Fundies because they embarrass me with my past. i haven't yet "let go" because early childhood conditioned fear remains embedded in my psyche. i attempt to exorcise that Pavlovian fear reflex.

PPS. thank you for your observations of my behaviors. might prove helpful.

Well, if we look back to ancient history, before the rise of states like Egypt, societies were not yet rule by patriachy and there where mostly goddess worshippers around the meditaranian. This was because woman gave birth, women seemed to make life, so god was thought to be a woman. Then with the raise of nationion states with their male armies, the women were demoted to house wives and servants. That was when god became a man. God changes gender according to whos in power. Yes, this wishful thinking seems a reflection of the thinkers own ego. The need to justify rule over others by claiming they are a close reflection or image of god.
Well that may be one way of looking at it.

God gave us His word(the Bible) we did not put thoughts into His head, He put thoughts into ours, without Him we would have no knowledge of anything, even our limited knowledge.
