Our dogs pee does that too. We have yellow circles all over the lawn. (We figure it's better outside than inside)
I always assumed dog pee was slightly acidic.

both dogs are killing the grass. Its the Ph of the urine that turns the grass brown. Some dogs urinate more than others and pups have less bladder control than older dogs. But both are causing the problem. Increase the watering of yoiur lawn to reduce the concentration of the urates. Train the dogs to piddle on someone elses lawn

There are products you can give your dog to help with the acidity level. Check out care-a-lot.com or petsmart.com. My male dog's pee kills the grass & my female's does not. I have also heard of giving a tablespoon of tomato juice daily to help with the problem, but I haven't tried it so I don't know if it works or not..

definitely not something! some male doggies do not commence lifting their legs until they seem to be a three hundred and sixty 5 days or greater. My adult males, in the event that they actually might desire to pee, do not even carry their legs! Leg-lifting is a social marking habit, and has not something to do with the medical/well being factor of urination. Even female canines each so often carry their legs to pee whilst marking.

It's the pH of the urine. Yes, there are products you can buy over the counter to give your dog to change the pH but you have to be very careful with these! Check with your veterinarian first. Changing the pH of the urine can cause your dog to develop crystals and possibly stones in the bladder which is an entirely new and more serious problem.

Her pee is more acidic (or more basic, I get confused between the two). Try putting a little bit of tomato juice in her food. The base properties of the juice will lessen the acid in her pee (or the acid in the tomatos will lessen the base in her pee). Like I said, I get the two confused, but this method works.

That is what puppies and babies do, they pee very often. Babies wear diapers, puppies don't, and they have to use the lawn.

Urine contains ammonia......this is why the urine smell is also hard to get rid of.
