Why didn't you think of this before you had children?

The first question is why did you move with him was it only so you wouldn't get deported. Next, is your husband the father of your children. Third, you need to do what makes you happy if you feel that you want to stay in America try to see what other ways that you can make that happen by talking with immigration. I will pray that God guides you in the direction he wants you to go.

Sounds like an immigration problem.
You are staying with him because the children would otherwise be deported or are your children being deported but you can stay in the country (wherever that is) because you are with him?
Seek advice from civil rights (citizens advice bureau?)
Is the difference in religion such a big thing?

Are your children grown? You moved to his house so you can not be deported? Sounds like you had left him and maybe received communication from Immigration Services. I would talk to an immigration attorney to see what options you have. Don't rely on internet advise.

if your children were born here, they can't be deported just because you split with their father. but don't stay with him just to remain in this country, if thats what you're asking.
go back to africa and take your kids with you and if you want to become a US citizen go about it in a proper manner.
see an immigration official and find out for certain what your options would be before making any decisions.

This is what happens when people marry for convenience and not love....Christians, Muslims it's not important...you are illegal go back to Africa and take him with you. I don't mean to sound nasty but why live with someone who makes you unhappy just to stay in a country...this is your life...enjoy it...maybe in Africa Mr. Right is waiting for you...things can't be that bad there surely. Good Luck and leave this horrible man quickly because your children can't be happy either.
