The SFA won't let Walter Smith leave the Scotland job, so I think that idea of him going to Rangers is over.
Who would the rangers fans out there pick, now that Smith and McCoist are not available.

is the general consensus among rangers fans that they would rather see success at club level than national level? (personally i would, i'm a man u fan). i'm english but my father's scottish, and you all know how appaling vogts was....i can think of a few managers good enough for rangers but i can't think of many top quality managers other than smith that are suitable for the scotland job

they will get Smith in the end And mcCoist migth still go he has no contract to sfa only to tv such as itv and bbc... I dnt think its a gd idea having smith as scotland manager anymore he wants to go to rangers so his mind might be else where now

Personally George Graham.
I know hes been out of work for years now but he did say recently that he would return if a big club made an approach for him. Graham would be ideal at the moment because it is Rangers defence in particular which is struggling and we know from hes Arsenal teams of old that defending is a top priority for George.

Rangers apparently are having talks with the Scottish fa about smith and MC coist taking over but Graeme souness was also mentioned .

I think smith will still return to gers,this has happened plenty of times before,and a lot of the time,they let the guy leave if suitable compensation is paid,though smith is a very honourable man,so there'll be no skullduggery involved.

big yogi hughes has done a great job at falkirk and must be in contention,if rangers are looking for a scottish manager,is there a better shout than the big man ?
