that the only time i'm really happy is when i get my pills filled? i've been questioning this myself. FYI, the meds are ativan. i would like to stop taking them, but i'm addicted.. any ex pill poppers here that can give me some advice? i WAS down to just 1 a day, but my anxiety takes over so much i'm back up to 5+ a day.

ativan is a very strong medication and it can become addictive. your doctor can change you over to another medication, such as clonzapine ( < uncertain of spelling ) or something else. that will work just as good on anxiety.
you need to be honest with your doctor. about how much of the ativan you have been taking.
1) if you over-medicate yourself by taking more than you are prescribed to take you mess-up your system and cause the medication to not work the way it is suppose to.
2) if you take more than your suppose to, when you do have and anxiety or panic attack you will eventually find out you have run-out of the medication you need to stop the anxiety because you already took it all.
so you really need to go speak to your doctor.

Those pills never worked for me. They just help with the "symptoms" of anxiety (sweaty palms etc) and my mom would always have me take them while I was having the anxiety attack (like it'd help durring it, not). Maybe if you keep remind yourself that you'll be back to 1 a day. You should also ask your doctor if you can get into a routine that will help you relieve stress. Maybe instead of taking a pill take a hot shower.

ha i feel the same way about my pills (adderall xr, like the opposite of urs). just startin to get kinda adicted, but if i were u i wouldnt worry too much yet. just try to ease up on the pill poppin a bit. i dont know if ur pill is the same, but you could be developing a tolerance. so go a few days w/o taking it, then when u take it again its even better. be cool, take 3 or so every other day or every 2 days on n off. not fun gettin tolerant to ur happy pills!

You need to speak to your doctor about weaning off of the pills and finding another way to deal with the anxiety. Stopping some prescription meds cold turkey is not recommended.

It sounds like you might need Prozacs may be I'm wrong but if you feel your getting hooked on ativans try to ween your self off or stop cold turkey. Some times that works best.
