Do you call her: Mom, Mother, Mommy, By her first name, By a nick name, or something else?

It started out as Ma, then Mom, Mommy and now.... "mi" (as in the second syllable of Mommy). Never by name. Didn't think it appropriate to call the person who carried you for 9 months by their first name.

Call her by her first name or if elderly Mrs. --------.

Call her Mom if that doesn't bother you. However, normally we have just one Mom and we call step-moms by their first name.

My mother has passed away unfortunately but when my sweetie
was alive I called her "Mammy"

she would not allow us to call her by her first name "Sally" and
she would not answer us if we even jokingly called her by anything
else but "Mammy" MOM Ma....

I call mine "Ma". I don't like it when children call parents by their first names. It seems very impersonal to me. It's like what you would call an acquaintance.

Call her what you feel comfortable calling her. I call mine Mom.
