The old legend is that if one reaches the spot were a rainbow touches the earth and digs there,one will be sure to find a pot of gold. Hence visionaries, wool-gatherers, day dreamers and the like are sometimes called rainbow chasers, because of their habit of hoping for impossible things.

the irish myth of the leprachauns that live at the end of the rainbow with their magic pots of gold......i like to relate it to lucky charms though :D
