Yep no problem, unless it loaded with haz goods(orange plates) then it got to be 50yds minimum from public highway, i regularly park an artic outside my house,

It's obvious that publice roads are to be left unobstructed as they are designed for traffic flow. If you ment at the side of the public road, it is dependent on where you park.
#1 If there is a sign that says "No Parking" then NO.
#2 If the Burg you are in has local Laws/Rules restricting commercial vehicle passage and parking then read the rules.
#3 If all else fails, keep driving. You can't make any money parking the rig!

Yes, unless -
You will cause an obstruction to the flow of traffic, or cause danger to other road users.
Local bylaws prohibit overnight parking of certain vehicles.
I used park my 40-tonne artic on public roads quite frequently, if there was nowhere else available.
