I think anyone who is hard working is welcome here, however that doesn't apply to ALL immigrants does it. Additionally because they are willing to work for lower wages they do push salaries down - you may ask why that's a problem - well it is if you cannot survive on that salary because it has been devalued so much - the lower salaries can be nicely supplemented by not paying tax, NIS and benefits - you could not afford to live on those wages without some supplement.
However there are also large numbers of lazy Brits who are happy to sit and reproduce and let the state take care of them all their lives - ever heard of a place called Woolwich in South East London? Take a walk through there in the daytime when you have a days annual leave and you will see the Jeremy Kyle road show live! They should be made to work after 6-8 months of failing to find work - no ifs or buts. I have always worked, and I haven't always done nice jobs , especially when I was younger, but you do it to earn money. Today it seems that many unskilled people wont do anything unless its 'senior' as they have such high ideas! Hence why they are on the dole heap.

More immigrants is not the answer... that really is the crazy Blair government mentality.
Benefits system and scum of society is not the same thing Scum are scum, if they are on benefits or not. But, putting something back in the system is a must for everyone who is able to.
Compulsary governmental and council jobs I believe would be the way forward. National services such as armed forces, fire service support, medical health support, litter picking, public recreational mainteance etc. Anywhere where help is needed and we are underpowered EG why not re-train them in something worthwhile like healthcare and nursing instead of getting people from abroad or paying someone long term jobseekers allowance?
I can understand in a way why some people don't want to work in a dead end job, or job they know they will hate for little money. It makes it impossible for them to save any money because it all goes on bills. Some people can't see the point in working. Even though I unsderstand it, this also frustates me because me and the other tax payers foot the bill. If we all just quit work, where would the country be then?
Scum on the other hand are easy to spot.... and we have all seen them.

i think of the challenge that Brits have with human beings coming in are:- a million. non secular Temples changing the skyline, 2. centred ethnic shops in a particular knit area, as a effect changing the look and experience of an area, 3. centred ethnic populations in an area, 4. Public funds being spent on dozens of translations of government information at tax payer’s cost. 5. Foreigners working for much less funds and this shrink a uk born voters wages significantly. 6. Foreigners coming in and getting greater beneficial treatment with residences and advantages than a uk citizen. 7. Foreigners not studying the NO1 familiar language interior the international, ENGLISH. 8. Foreigners who hate Christian’s are coming here and dictating to alter and challenge the very complication-unfastened fabric of English society. 9. Foreigners residing countless families to a single homestead, this places homestead fees and condo values up against uk 1st time shoppers hobbies. 10. Can a uk citizen circulate to different worldwide places, particularly non- Christian and take income, like foreigners do here, NO they may well be murdered in chilly Blood. i'm no racist or religionist, I actually have a Black spouse from Africa who's American, I even have traveled international slightly and because I got here back to England I even have observed England is being over run with foreigners too lots, they are taking on. whilst travelers come to uk they assume to work out particular standards, faith, skyline and English talking human beings what a marvel some have stated to me in motels around our substantial cities. i don't comprehend what the answer is, i will see no end to the challenge for a hundred years and then England would be commonplace for what it would desire to are transforming into and all the previous would be forgotten.

I think if an immigrant has just arrived and is on benefits for 3 months never getting a job they should be returned to their country as they are not contributing to society. But if they have had a job and have lost it through no fault of their own and are currently on benefits, then I think they have earned it, but only for so long.

All legal immigrants are welcome here in the USA .Its the illegal aliens that need to be deported back to their own country's.
Welfare is a necessary evil for some people,it was meant as a short time assist not a lifestyle.Blame the government for allowing this to happen. Some low life people will take advantage of any situation if given the change.Note that if our government here in the USA would just enforce our immigration laws and secure our border then we wouldn't be drowning in 10 to 12 million illegal aliens.Time to stop this flood of illegal aliens into our nation.Americans must think of the betterment of Americans first ,and stop pandering to any illegal aliens from any country.

I think people on benefits are scum. Period. I am a single mother and I work 2 jobs to pay for my family and I just bought a a house on my own, with out a dime from benefits, and I've been laid off before. I was unemployed for 3 hours. There are jobs out there. And yes I've had to take jobs that I was "over qualified for" just to feed my son, but I did what I had to. I was raised with a strong work ethic and a sense of pride. I think we need to get rid of the beleif that it is ok to accept handouts from the government, because again it is not the government that is giving you the hand out. It's your damn neighbor that's busting their hump to pay for you. GET A JOB!!!

Sounds quite reasonable. I'm an immigrant and I've never been on benefits. And I'd never live in a council house even if they offered it to me on a silver plate.

I guess you are right.Loads of immigrants left their country in search for a better life,i don't see any reason why they should settle for benefits.
The government should stop giving benefits to able people and for those immigrants who are spoiling the names of the hard-working ones should be removed.

No. I would prefer to see nasty people like you who insist on slurring others be shipped out! Not everyone on benefits are "lazy scum". Some have genuine reasons for claiming benefits,of which you may find yourself one day. Would YOU like to be labelled....."Lazy scum", through no fault of your own................no, didn't think so.
