I LOVE mine! Couldn't be without it. Walmart sells a really great one for about 10.00. It comes with a mnaual pump and an exercise chart you can hang on the wall. I have lost 40lbs since I bought mine 6 months ago!

Buy it! But only if you are really going to use it regularly! It does take up some space. Also get the excercise video and you'll be fine.I just came back from a one-hour gym ball class. My instructor's great and it's more fun working in a class room environment. You will also learn how to handle and to balance on the ball. This would minimise injuries. My instructor also incoporates dance steps into the routine.Maybe you should try a class,in a nearby gym, before you buy the ball? You might just decide to go to the gym instead for the class and then you need not buy the ball.

As a personal trainer, I find that a gym ball can serves many different aspects of a workout and its useabale for everyone. One great aspect of using a ball is it will work the core muscles at the same time as your working out. Since your a women I will give you some examples, First it is very important that the ball is the right size.
First sit on the ball with you feet flat on the ground. Your kness should be at 90 degrees and if the ball is the right size your quads or thighs should be parell to the floor. Now your ready to began, while still seated on the ball and doing your routein you can do curls, kick backs for those flabs under arms your legs will be working to keep you from rolling off the ball at the same time your abs will be automaticly tightening which will help the stomach area.
for the legs do wall squats, put the ball behind you against a solid wall and put the ball against the middle of your back pressing against it now step foward 12-15 inches so your now slight leaning your legs should be shoulder width apart now controling you squat slowley lower your self downward still pressing against the ball. When your thighs are at 90 degress again, pause and then push upwards. You can hold dumbells in your hands to make it more challanging. Ss for the right ball I suggest you go to a fitness store and speat to one of the workers with the ball you will get a instruction book or go to a libery and get a vidio One great use for the ball is streching it will increase your over all flexabillity, when used on a regular regament everyday streching. I don't know your age of physyal conditition REMEMBER if your doing any new exceersize program you should see your family doctor for clearance. hope this helps.

Apparently they are still all the rage. At my gym they are used all the time and i think they are probably really useful for core balance and all that. However, as with everything else gym wise it depends how motivated you are. I bet only about 5 % of home gym equipment is used regularly due to good intentions. I bought a gym ball a year ago and have now deflated it cos i kept tripping over it and probably only used it a few times.

Yea if you are motivated enough to exercise regularly at home.

It may even been a healthier option than the gym ball...just think of the hundreds people sweating on it.

Maybe you should buy one

They probably are quite good. I bought one a few years ago, but its still in the box and has never been used. In fact i dont even know where it is now. Why dont you go along to your local gym where you can probably try one out before you go and buy one for yourself.

I found mine to ba a very comfortable chair, and I use it for stretching.

Get a high volume pump, or a small electric pump.

yes, and use a large towel on top, but be sure not to slip. i use the towel to avoid the cold plastic and to help absorb perspiration.
put it in a corner of the bedroom where you won't forget to use it, but out of the way.
