I mean, there's plenty of scientific proof that homosexuality is not a choice and instead a genetic trait, but is there anything that you people as religious folks have to say about it? WHY is it an abomination of God or whatever? Is there a problem with two guys or two women (sexually) loving eachother?

God created man and woman for each other, for a mission.. to populate the world. two same sexed people cannot do this without help from the opposite.
God has a reason for everything that he creates.

Well the 'religious folks' notwithstanding, the Bible says something about sin, in that it is forgiven if you trust in God through Jesus Christ.
That's the Gospel message.
So while the 'religious folks' are dogmatic in their scriptural exegesis, purporting their taught belief, seeing only the condemnation of sin as the conclusion, the Bible shows very clearly that the just shall live by faith. Counter to the 'religious folks' conclusion.
"WHY is it an abomination of God or whatever?"
Because all sin is an abomination to God. Not just homosexuality. But there are certain verses that seem to isolate homosexuality, many of which are actually translations from some other word, as in catamite, and those that are in ritualistic sex, sodomy being ANY sex that is not considered 'normal' intercourse- the word 'sodomy' not taking on the current less inclusive meaning until much later in history.
People are poorly taught, and so are ignorant and are being taught by ignorant preachers.

Friend you can post all the sites you want to, I can by scriptures show you that Homosexuals & lesbians are a choice & NOT that a defective so call gene, The Apostle Paul had to deal with many issues in his time, & homosexuals was one of them, If a homo- sexaual or lesbian, did not have a choice, Then you would have to cut out 1st Cor. 6:11 And such were some of you, but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus & by the Spirit of our God. Now turn to 2nd Timothy 3:1-5 I will only type some, This know also that in(what time) in the last days perilous times shall come, 2: for men shall be lovers of their own self-----3:without natural affection, (meaning natural affection man to woman.) Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleaness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. Romans 1:31 Without natural affections---- Romans 1:24-32 Verse 26 & 27 For this cause God gave them up, when (not before they were born, but after they were born) God gave them up to vile affections for even the women did change (WHO CHANGED, Was it God or Woman) Women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. 27: And likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly & receiving in themselves that recompence of their error & not God's error ,28: And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient. Now show me where they are born that way, come on, The lesbians & homosexuals has try to blame God for their choice, Why not put the blame where it fits, on themselves & satan. Reaons why i dont believe in gay
1. Any body can be a gay if he wants to be practices until it becomes a habit. (proof, many people, who were not gays 10 years ago are now experimenting and come out with the same results.... I am gay! -- yet its just a habit)
2. Gays are not disabled, but 100% normal, only presence of homones is no excuse, because the organs are functioning properly and are correct. any man can be a gay if he wants to be one... its by choice and experiment.
3. Like normal sex between man and woman any one can like it and praise it yet its just a habit. Even normal sex is a habit; some people abstain from it and are normal. They can start it if they want there is no harm or homones or genes to block them.
4. Purpose of Gay sex is intertainment and pleasure, yet the religious purpose of sex is mainly regeneration ---or creation of offsprings if the early people were gays 100% they were so few that the wild animals and deseases and snakes and natural death, war with neighbour, tribes etc would have wiped them away as population growth would have been slow. There were no hospitals then. So the law of God made them to competitively give birth so much as to compansate for the high motality rate. (please be fair and say yes to facts...)
5. So are we are here on earth as a result of what we call normal sex between a man and a woman. This is scientific evidence and is good because you were born from male and female sexual intercourse. The other kind of sex is just for pleasure only that is why religion which encourages birth of new babies to replace the dying and aging is not encouraging it (homosexuality).
6. In religion sex gives pleasure and enables regeneration --- it was important since earlier people did not have science for millions of years (the modern PRACTICAL science is only 100 years old and we are not sure that its effect will last us many years as it seems to be deregulating most things, see ozone layer are side effects, now abortion, etc ). I dont hate science or knowledge but nature was not made by science and ran for many millions of years without major failures, now modification by science will it lead us to sustain the world longer? we still have to find out.

I guess religious zealots would site sodam and ghamora as one of their prime reasons against homosexuality.
Here is some other scriptures from the bible:
Genesis 2:24-25 says, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Hebrew 13:4 says, “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”
In Romans 1:26-27 Paul is very specific, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.” In 1 Corinthians 6:9, Paul wrote, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.”
These are just a few of the things they would site.
I really think another reason is that we fear what we don't understand. We have always done that, just ask the indians....Oh wait. We can't. We killed most of them. Think about it, have you ever seen 3 indians together outside of oklahoma?
This is the way man has been since the beginning of time.

In Mathew 19, Jesus stated that when God invented sex in the beginning, he intended for it to be between a man and a woman who were married for life (he was that specific). He stated that anyone who con not accept God's conditions for sex should remain celibate (literally, a "eunuch").
It is mostly the Apostle Paul who condemns homosexuality and lesbianism in the New Testament. In Romans chapter 1, he seems to state that it is self evident from nature itself that it is wrong for men to have sex with men or for women to have sex with women, for example. What biological purpose is served by having two men have sex? They cannot pass along their genes to the next generation that way.
Exodus International claim that they can cure homosexuality, so the idea that one is born that way, and cannot help it, seems suspect since some people (through self-discipline & effort) have left the gay lifestyle.

I personally don't know how you feel so it's a hard question to answer without hurting some feelings. I want to do what is right and my study of the Bible tells me what is right and wrong. Now if my creator tells me homosexuality is wrong then I,m to consider it wrong and try to avoid any wrong feelings. Now if the feelings are hard to resist, then my fight against it becomes intense. Example.... If I have strong cravings to murder or steel or even something natural like having sex other then with my wife, then I would fight it so not to displease my God but also my fellowman.

There could be societal pressures against it that are actually not in keeping with faith. In Japan homosexuals are not ostracized or persecuted, however the approach of existence does see it as a infantile experimentation and that homosexuals might desire to incredibly strengthen up and get a real kin.

We one reason is that it goes against the natural order of things. There is no reason to do it but for natural gratification. God created sex for three reasons
1. procreation.
2.recreation.
3.(i can't remember).sorry
God created us and He has every right to tell His creation what they can and cannot do. He has a plan for marital union and that is to make babies. To have unnatural sex with a member of the same sex goes against all that we were created for.
There is no scientific proof that Homosexuality is genetic and therefor natural.

Without question, this story reveals how God judges homosexuality. Yet remarkably, there are some Christians who teach that God condones it. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), in its December 1991 document Human Sexuality and the Christian Faith, states, "We must distinguish between moral judgments regarding same-sex activity in biblical times and in our own time." Over 70 bishops of the Episcopal Church signed a '"Statement of Koinonia" which says, "We believe that some of us are created heterosexual and some of us are created homosexual. We believe homosexuality and heterosexuality are morally neutral." The Washington, D.C., diocese officially approved the document and declared that homosexuals who live together in monogamous relationships should be "honored."6
The United Methodist Church has also convened panels to determine whether homosexuality is a sin. Though the proposals to loosen church strictures on homosexuality were rejected, the 1991 panel did agree that biblical references to sexual practices should not be viewed as binding "just because they are in the Bible."7 Probably the church that has departed the most from God's Word on this subject is the United Church of Christ. They permit homosexuals to be ordained to ministry.8
