The Jews were disbanded from Israel by the Romans shortly after the death of Jesus the Christ. They moved into Western Europe and England. They seem to have a penchant for controlling money. They became very rich but very unpopular because of this.
In the late 13 century, Edward I threw them out of England. This problem escalated until Adolph Hiltler began the Holocaust in the late 1930's. The Nazis killed over 6 million of them. At the end of World War II, Baron Rotchchild, a Jewish banker in London, met with Churchill and Roosevelt to put together a plan to send those who survived the Holocaust back to Israel. Rotchchild funded much of this venture.
These displaced Jews were not wanted by any of the Western countries. Some, like Albert Einstien and Oppenheimer got into the United States because of their intellectual abilities.
The Exodus, as it was called, placed these very religious, Orthodox Jews, right in the middle of Palestine, an Islamic country which did not want them either, for all of the same reasons. With the backing of the US, Great Britain, France and Rotchchild, the Jews built the new Israel.
However, soon thereafter, many more Jews migrated there, and there was not enough land to accomodate them. With Western money, they began to build a military, and subsequntially got "the Bomb."
They want as much of the Middle East as they can get, under the name of ZION. They believe that they are God's chosen people and that they deseve it. They do not believe that the man, Jesus was the son of God or their Messiah.
There is no way religion can be left out of this equation, even though there is very little difference between Islam and Judaism. It is all about tribalism and it goes back thousands of years.

What was wrong with them is the same thing that is wrong with the cowboys and indians, the hutus and tutsis, the blacks and whites in Apartheid South Africa, the Cathlics and Protestants in Northern Ireland (and previously during the wars of religion in Europe), the Rangers and Celtic football supporters in Scotland, the Indonesians and native New Guineans in Iriyan Jaya, the Indonesians and East Timorese, the Indian and Polynesean Fijiians, the English and the French, the English and the Scotts, the English and the Welsh, the Germans and the Jews, the Communists and the Capitalists, the Crusaders and the Muslims, the Crusaders and the Jews, the Crusaders and the Christians who followed the Bible instead of the Pope, the Lutherans and the Anabaptists, the Americans and the Iraqis, the.....
The problem is bascally that they belong to two groups and that there is some kind of rivalry between them that causes inter-group conflict. People have a tendency to see the group to which they belong as being the best group, and to see other groups as being inferior or a threat. And they have a tendency to be selfish and want to have everything for themselves, be it land, money, oil, or whatever.

It is more of a land fight. Israel is the only fertile section in the whole region and that makes it a good place to live. The Muslims tossed the Jews out in about the seventh century, the UN put them back in the late 40s and now they both claim the right to the land.

The land that God gave to Israel is shown in this picture, along with the peoples that now occupy the land.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Greater_Israels.jpg
The yellow, orange, and red areas mark what was promised to Israel by God.
The red was given to Israel by the United Nations.
In Genesis 15:18 it tells us the boundries of the land given to Israel approx 2000 BC.
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
This is from the Nile in Egypt to the Euphrates in Iraq.
Muhammad lived from 570-632 AD.
Israel had been run out of Israel by the Romans in 70 AD and were not officially accepted by the U.N. as a nation again until 1948 AD.
When they were, the U.N. gave them less land than God gave them.

The Muslims have 22 coutries of their own; not mentioning the oil controlled by Arabs. Israel has one piece of land which was purchased, legally, back in Scriptural times.
The history of these two people groups dates all the way back to two brothers, Jacob & Esau. What is going on today is old-fashioned sibling rivalry. they're fighting over Daddy's will...the land of Israel.

That spot reads "added factor," not "REPEAT the question." You saved your question too short. It became the Jews' Holy Land until now it became the Christians'. God gave it to them first.
