I am in Daytona Beach. If you are coming soon, packing for the weather will be tricky. We have been unseasonably warm, was 83 yesterday and I live 1 block from the beach. Tomorrow a high of 60. So I suggest shorts , t-shirts , a couple of sweatshirts for evenings. This type of weather , the ups and downs will last thru March, so don't be disappointed if you get here and there is a cold spell, we are due. As far as things to do other than the beach depends on your age. West Palm has a lot of nightlife. As far as attractions I am not familiar of any of them. You can take a lot of day trips from there--the Kennedy Space Center--pick one of the parks at Disney--there is a new casino in Hollywood called the Mardi Gras Casino, there are gambling ships that go out from several ports here in the state, that is a nice day out , even if you don't gamble. There are alligator farms , museums, . There is para sailing at most of the beaches. There is a nude beach in Hallover very near West Palm LOL. The best suggestion is to run to Barnes and Noble and get a book on Florida tourism. You are close enough about an hour away from being in the everglades, may I suggest an air boat ride. Have fun on your vacation, Florida has a lot to offer, but remember it can get expensive. By the way if you are a NASCAR fan then come to Daytona to the track and do the NASCAR experience at Daytona USA, it is awesome for race fans, but as mentioned , a little bit expensive.

There's a zillion golf courses in the area. There's usually some great off shore and inland fishing available. Your hotel might be able to recommend a guide. If you're into motorcycles, look up Harley Davidson's fly and ride program online and check out renting a bike to take a little trip. Should be great riding weather down there right now. Look up historical sites online if you're interested in history.

Yes, it's expensive. Take plenty of money. And even though it's Florida, it's still winter. The weather can be unpredictable. Bring a jacket just in case. You probably won't need a snow parka though.

West Palm Beach is a very ritsy neighborhood and things are pretty pricey. But you can enjoy the beach for free! Take plenty of sun block and a camera.

Also check out Breezy Beach Wear for some great beach-wear. They have great apparel items and surf necklaces for guys. They also have apparel items, silk flower hair clips, beach-inspired jewelry, fruit soaps and more for women!
