Test and follow only the absolute truth, the truth comes from only the true god.

I'd say it's better to stay a non-believer because if you just follow any religion you may get caught up in satanic religions. The Bible says (I'm not trying to lure you into Christianity religion), but it says before the Holy Biblical gospel is preached to all four corners of the world Jesus will not make his second appearance and before the last soul which was supposed to be saved is not saved the rapture will not happen. So my advice is to stay a non-believer and maybe one day God's grace will fall upon you. Just don't be stubborn and rebelious or God will humble you. Who knows maybe the last soul Jesus Christ wants to save is yours and I'm not being sarcastic or anything.

I guess it depends. Religions are not all the same. Some are better than others, and some are worse than none. The cure for the human problem of sin lies in God. Some religions point to God, and some turn people away from God.

As an analogy, take an illness, a venomous snake bite for example. Say the cure for it is antivenin. One school of medicine tells people to seek treatment from antivenin, and another school of medicine makes people believe that antivenin is actually bad and they should instead treat snake bite by drinking coffee.

Those people who believe in one school of medicine take the right cure and get cured, and those who are influenced by the other school of thought and who reject the right cure and take the wrong one are at best are not helped, and at worst it speeds up the action of the venom.

Better an honest sinner than a hypocritical Christian. Jesus said to count the cost and consider carefully before following Him. If you need to ask that question you are viewing religion as an optional extra and it will not fulfil you. If you have a hunger for the truth then you need to ask God privately to reveal Himself to you in a sincere way and stay alert to your circumstances in the next few weeks to see what He does about it.

I don't believe in the word religion it is equal to the word law, I believe in a personal relationship with the creator of the universe. God just wants to have a relationship with you, the religion aspect isn't as important

It depends on what you mean by "better". It's certainly more honest to stay as a non-believer, but it'd make life a lot easier for you to go along with the crowd and become religious.

When you buy a new car it comes with a manual. That manual contains all the vital steps you need to take so to keep your car running well, so you can enjoy your investment to the full.
The same it is with our life. When God created us He provided His word the Bible to show us the proper way to live, so we an enjoy life to the full, with countless blessings.
religion is not a good advocate to the Bible. What you need to do is read your Bible and follow it.Do what it says and you can't go wrong.

I think it takes just as much committment to be a nonbeliever as it does to be a believer. Penn Gillette (of Penn and Teller) wrote a really great essay on the great responsibility of being an atheist:

Personally, I am a pastafarian:

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

No, it's better to find your own path than to follow a worn down one. There is no guide to god, if one exists. The only way to find him is to take the road less traveled by, and that makes all the difference.

You don't have to "follow" any religion; just at least treat your fellow man with some love, respect and a little charity.
