My boyfriend has had more than one offense. He is 17 and will not be 18 until March 15. He has been charged in the past with grand theft auto, possession of/intent, running from cops (this was 3 years ago, at 15). He has benn locked up for 3 years.(for those charges) He was in a group home. He ran away from there a month ago. His cousin dared him to rob a convenient store, so being an idiot he did and got caught. We live in TN. with all of this what could happen. I am also 5 wks pregnant. . .Help, and please dont be negative. I realize who i am in love with and i am wanting to stand by his side and help him thru all of this in hopes that this baby and his stupidity will make him wake up. I've been with him since we were 15. I am not giving up on him yet.

My guess is they will lock him up until he is 21, then sevearal years probation. He needs to learn a trade and get a job. Good luck with the baby.

Sadly, in my State, just below Tennessee, many of the crimes your boyfriend has committed are very serious crimes. Most of which can be tried, if determined to be of "adult status" by the court. It sounds like you are the mature side of the relationship especially with your pregnancy. I believe it's time you talked with him and let him know....it's either his old ways...or the highways!! A difficult decision for sure....but....hanging on to this guy, if he doesn't change for the better, COULD be a mistake you'll regret for the rest of your life. There are MANY good men in the world you've not met. Don't let your good common sense get thrown out the window knowing that the ramifications could be much worse if he's in jail the rest of his life. That would do you AND your baby absolutely no good. A tough decision, indeed, that you need to reach within your own self to answer! Best wishes to you hon!

Well I have to commend you on your stick to it ness, but now with the baby you must switch your focus and priorities to the baby. He may be looking at doing some jail time because the courts will look at his past and see he hasn't seemed to change his activities. Sometimes tough love works best, so tell him you and the baby are going to walk the right path and you want him with you, let him chose because you can't and won't be able to force him. Best of luck to you.

It may get ugly but it's sweet that you are willing to stand by him. he might be able to get time served for being locked up for so long so he might not be in there that long but probation may be a couple years. Good Luck!

Maybe you can talk him into using all the spare time he's going to have on his hands to further his education and make a good life for you and your baby. Good luck, hope it works out for you.
