It has been postulated that evolution stops when a species starts to care more for it's elderly, unwell, deformed members than it does for the healthy ones.
In England, the leader of the opposition AND the heir-apparent to the governing party of the day both have offspring that are "challenged" physically.
Don't get all Politically Correct on me - these are facts published in the media.
So, if we elect the weak - this is it! Game over. We'll never reach for the stars or get any further than a nice cup of tea and a jam sandwich while we watch Emmerdale on the telly.
The last person you can trust in a position of power is the jerk who applies for the job.
Have fun with this one, people.

I am suggesting that B&C are actually pissing in the gene pool with their bad genes. If your neice has CF that's very sad, but it's your, or her parents, problem, not mine. Homo Sapiens is not an endangered species, in fact it's an ENDANGERING species. My charity spend goes on other things because when you've cut down all the trees and eaten all the cute cuddly furry things, you'll be living in Soylent Green - look it up.

I won't answer it, but i will comment that your assumption seems to be that evolution is a good thing, and that we should try to promote the process of evolution and support it.
Compare this to what even a devout British Atheist and Evolutionist says:
"This brings me to the first point I want to make about what this book is not. I am not advocating a morality based on evolution. I am saying how things have evolved. I am not saying how we humans morally ought to behave. I stress this, because I know I am in danger of being misunderstood by those people, all toll numerous, who cannot distinguish a statement of belief in what is the case from an advocacy of what ought to be the case. My own feeling is that a human society based simply on the gene's law of universal ruthless selfishness would be a very nasty society in which to live. But unfortunately, however much we may deplore something, it does not stop it being true. This book is mainly intended to be interesting, but if you would extract a moral from it, read it as a warning. Be warned that if you wish, as I do, to build a society in which individuals cooperate generously and unselfishly towards a common good, you can expect little help from biological nature. Let us try to teach generosity and altruism, because we are born selfish. Let us understand what our own selfish genes are up to, because we may then at least have the chance to upset their designs, something that no other species has ever aspired to."
-Richard Dawkins, The Selfish Gene, 1976, pp.2-3.

I'm British but I'm not quite sure where you're going with this one.
We're not electing the children of these politicians, we're electing the politicians themselves. How does this demonstrate that we are caring more for the elderly, unwell and deforemed than the healthy?
And who has postulated the evolution stopping theory. (And what species is going to out-evolve us?)

The basis for this argument hangs on your first postulation that evolution stops. I think there's a flaw in this somewhere - or perhaps you mean social evolution only. Be that as it may, the rest of your argument is valid, but as such, democracy is the only working model we have for leadership at the moment, so I guess we are stuck with it...

Reach for the stars??
The only place people who kill the weak are going is hell. By your definition Hitler reached for the stars and unless he repented he'll be reaping God's righteous judgement.
The greatest thing a human can do is to love God and others- to love the weak and helpless is true greatness- not mass murder.

What have Brown and Cameron's children's conditions to do with their ability to govern? Absolutely nothing and it's shameful to suggest it might.
My niece has CF. Are you suggesting she should be eliminated because she's deformed in your eyes? What exactly ARE you suggesting?

Actually you are incorrect. Evolution never stops so long as there are evolutionary pressures and replicating organisms. Evolutionary pressures are everywhere, from environmental to cultural.

No, you got it wrong. It says in the Bible that the meek shall inherit the earth... so it must be true.
I like your style though. Eugenics is a fascinating field of study, unfortunately made unfashionable by the Third Reich but many of the theories are undeniable facts.
