I've been getting them on the left side for over 2 years now and docs haven't been much help in finding out what the problem is. I went for an ultrasound about a year ago to check for ovarian cysts but they didn't find anything. The pain's also spread to my side/back (whereas it used to be at the front only) and I've heard that can be a sign of kidney problems. But when I told my doc this, she said she doesn't think it's kidneys and is sending me for another ultrasound incase a cyst has now developed. She says they can (roughly) check the kidneys in that scan if I'm worried so I've agreed to have it again but, in the meantime, I have to wait until March for the scan while still in pain. Has anyone had the same problem?

omg i am having exactly the same problem, im having a scan done on thursday, it could be ovarian cyst's which are rupturing, thats what doctors seem to think the pain in my lower abdomin is, if you cant wait till march because you are in so much pain, go back to doctors and ask for xtra strong pain killers, i am on tramadol for my pain, which does help but can make you light headed, i usually take them at night so i can get a good nights sleep. hope everything goes ok. good luck email, me if you need anymore info, would like to know how you get on xxxxxxx

i had something really similar to this a few years ago.
i went for some of the same tests. i did end up with a small cyst on one ovary, but, the pain got so bad, i was walking with a cane. went to my chiropractor, she did some xrays found a pinched nerve below my waist. after a few weeks, she was able to get my vertebrae back in line and it has been fine ever since. she studied at the Palmer institute of chiropractic. if you try a chiropractor, make sure they take xrays and do electro testing on each vertebrae..
good luck
