I always seem to be closed off emotionally. I have a great friend whom I hope will become more than just friends, but I always over think and overanalize everything. I become stiff and constantly worry about what he is thinking of every move I make? How can I be comfortable in his presence? We have had short discussions of a relationship and this is the first time I've felt this way about anybody and i'm afraid I will mess up any chance if I do not straighten out my head when around him!

i had been through this! it's self-consciousness that's making you feel uneasy. don't worry, its normal, as we all would like our crushes to have the best impression of us and hopefully admire us just like we admire them. to be comfortable, you have to be normal. don't worry about how you look or behave all the time, it's more important for the guy to see who you really are for himself. that would ensure that he don't get nasty shocks when both of you enter a relationship, and it could be disastrous to the both of you.. besides, guys do like girls who are confident of themselves. if it's meant to be, it'll meant to be.. girl relax :) all the best to you too! :))

I find that if you have a great night out, you'll be able to let all emotions go.

Try going bowling or fair or something fun, then after that at night go out for a nice indian or chineese(whatever you like) and sit in. You find that when your waiting for your food you tend to discuss things and this would be the best time to tell him how you feel. Keep the wine coming but dont get too drunk because if hes a decent man he wouldnt want to take advantage- just a few glasses to build up your confidence.

#if he knocks you back- dont be disapointed as having him as a mate is better than not at all#

Maybe this is the way your inner voice is speaking to you to let you know this is not the one or you are simply not ready for the relationship. When you meet someone and a friendship develops than you begin hoping for more than friendship you should be comfortable and happy. If looking for changes than it is not right for you. Emotional problems that you speak of may need to be address with an professional. I feel that affection and an open heart are natural feelings that just are, in other words you can't make them happen, and if you try to make them happen you will have misery in another area of emotion. Pray for guidance for yourself, find affection and open heart for yourself first and all else will take it place as it should be.

I honestly believe that you have no problem with affection and opening your heart - trust is the key to solving your problem. I think that intense fear of getting hurt (after all, the heart is the ONLY thing that cannot be refunded, replaced, exchanged, duct taped, or super glued back together once it has been broken) won't allow you to trust. You have to be honest with him, and if he cares about you like you care about him, he will be patient and understanding, and give you the space you need to let him in. Believe me, you don't suffer alone in this department!

Hello sweetie. Do not worry too much. Do not ever declare you love by speech. This is a very bad move as he maybe thinking you are desperate. Same goes for a man if he loves a woman.

Show him your love by smiling at him. Tease and joke with him. Good luck.

What's the rush just carry on being friends and you will naturally become relaxed around him - you will then give off good vibes and not be nervous

Your answer is within yourself. Your feelings for him are there. Start thinking and reacting with your heart..not your head. If he is makeing you happy, smile and feel the comfort.

Just relax and be yourself! You gotta love yourself or at least like yourself before you can love anyone else. so concentrate on whats really making you feel uncomfortable and try and change it.
Good luck Hun!
