They can't do nothing about it now if you are living in the UK but if you ever go back there you will be screwed.

Based on personal experience alone I would suggest that you send that payment. I was also given a speeding ticket long ago. I just chose to ignore it because it was in a city/county over 7 hours away from my home and I did not see returning any time soon. Well friends, as luck would have it (my bad luck) I was pulled over near my home while on my way to work because of a non working headlight. I had no idea it wasn't working. Anyway, I was ordered out of my car, handcuffed with hands behind my back and placed neatly in the back of his patrol car....why you ask?....Because I had not paid the "oh, so long ago" speeding ticket and it had turned to a warrant. Needless to say that I was not given a second chance and an opportunity to pay the ticket but what I was given is 2 days in jail for the old one and 1 additional day for the second ticket. Imagine that! So, unless you are prepared to go to jail which is a possibility but not likely unless you return to Australia I would be finding out how to take care of that nagging little thing and you'll most definitely find inner peace....lol And one more thing....that fine increase you mentioned? It will continue to go up, up and away! Best pay it before it's so high that you cannot afford it. As that also pertains to my situation meaning that mine started out at $23.00 and when I was standing before "hizHoner" it was actually up to a staggering $2500.00!! Unreal! Thanks....

If I were you I would pay it .That is only the P.C's opinion you can't take that as gospel and in fact if you have received a notice it is obvious that they do intend to pursue it.The trick could be this they keep on upping the amount until it becomes worthwhile to chase you.Pay it and get it off the slate because you cannot be sure it won't be listed on computers all over the place.

No - they cannot arrest you in the UK (and I don't think they would bother trying to extradite you for speeding !!!) BUT if you ever return to Oz they would probably have a record and you would be arrested at immigration before you even left the airport.
How much is the fine ? I would personally pay it and be safe. At the end of the day, you committed the offence and you should do what is right !

Hey in the end it is between you and your conscience; but it isn't going to bankrupt you is it?
You can then be the guy who announces what a stand up person you are- you actually went out of your way to act the adult and pay for something you could have got away with!!!
Now that is a wowzer!!!

Arrested for speeding? I don't think so. Just forget about it. Then get a fake passport - only cost you about 2 grand.

Don't worry about it. It is just a ticket, I am sure they have better things to worry about.
