I think "Essex girl" has outgrown it's original geographical limits, although a day trip to Colchester will quickly show you how this anthropological group got it's name.

Nowadays any under-educated, loud-mouthed, celebrity/sex/alcohol-obsessed blonde is often classed as an Essex girl, regardless of their origins.
