I've used one for about 5 years. I think it is really good - it's most effective in winter when it is dark in the mornings, but if the light doesn't wake you it has a beeper as well. You know how it always seems to be easier to get out of bed in the summer when it is light? Well, with a daylight alarm clock you feel like that in the winter too. I'd recommend them to anyone. Never owned a rooster, sorry.

Seriously, I'm not sure that a light would wake me up. It's an awesome alternative to that all too annoying noise but I'd probably buy one and keep my other one set. That way you can set the sunrise one for 15 minutes earlier than the guaranteed one. Get up, turn old faithful off and once you're feeling like it is reliable, toss the old one.

heard a long time ago they are good but never found one to try. i would like one myself. where do u get them.
